Butler PoliceFriday — Police charged Nicolas Lee Reich, 19, of Butler in connection with the vandalism of a car Sept. 15 during an altercation with his ex-girlfriend’s boyfriend in the 400 block of Virginia AvenueThe car’s owner, Ryan McConnell, told police that he was in the vehicle with his girlfriend at the Diamond Street parking lot shortly before 11 p.m. when Reich showed up, according to court documents.The defendant allegedly kicked the vehicle, putting dents in the doors and hood. He also damaged the windshield. Restitution was placed at $2,759.69.Reich is charged with misdemeanor criminal mischief.Friday — Kevin M. Faty, 19, of Butler was charged with driving under the influence stemming from a traffic stop about 1:20 a.m. Sept. 24 on Shore Street.Police said they stopped Faty after they saw his car run a flashing red light at Chestnut and Cunningham streets. The suspect smelled of alcohol and appeared impaired, police said.At one point while speaking to the officer outside his car, Faty struck up an odd conversation. The officer said the suspect asked “if I believed in God and told me that God was standing right in front of me,” according to court documents.The teenager failed field sobriety tests and was taken for a breath test. The test showed his blood-alcohol level was 0.021 percent. In Pennsylvania, a level of 0.02 percent is considered intoxicated for an adult younger than 21.Faty is charged with DUI by a minor, a misdemeanor. Additionally, he was cited for several traffic and summary offenses including minors prohibited from driving with any alcohol in their system underage drinking, failing to stop at a flashing red light and driving without a license.

Slippery Rock PoliceFriday — Police charged Steven P. McGinty, 27, of Slippery Rock Township with defiant trespass after he entered the Giant Eagle store Sept. 15, having previously been barred there because of prior incidents.

Slippery Rock University PoliceFriday — Marissa M. Levy, 20, of Pittsburgh was charged with drunken driving and kicking a police officer stemming from a traffic stop Sept. 25 on the Slippery Rock University campus.SRU police said they stopped Levy’s car about 1:45 a.m. after an officer saw it drive onto the soccer field between Stadium Drove and Harmony Road.The car drove up to the field’s fence, backed up and traveled across the field parallel to Stadium Drive “making no attempt to re-enter the road,” according to court documents. The vehicle eventually drove across the sidewalk, down an embankment and onto the road before it was stopped.Police said Levy had a “very strong odor” of alcohol and she admitted that she had no driver’s license.She pleaded with the officer, ‘Please don’t arrest me,” documents said, but was subsequently arrested for suspected drunken driving.But when police tried to handcuff her, she pulled away and tried to break loose of the officer’s grasp. Levy struggled with and kicked at the officer, documents said, causing him to fall to the ground.At one point she made an attempted getaway, but another officer stopped her, police said. A breath test later showed her blood-alcohol level was 0.166 percent, more than twice the state’s 0.08 percent legal limit.In addition to driving under the influence, Levy is charged with resisting arrest, minors prohibited from driving with any alcohol in their system, underage drinking and careless driving.

State Police, Butler1 p.m. Saturday — A purse was stolen from the front seat of an unlocked pickup truck at the Pilot gas station on Route 422 in Muddy Creek Township. The purse belongs to a 68-year-old Erie woman. Police have no suspects. Anyone with information about the theft is asked to call police at 724-284-8100.2:50 a.m. Saturday — An unknown white woman struck a bartender in the face during a reported large fight at the Parker House on River Avenue in Parker, Armstrong County. A 911 hang-up call apparently sent police to the bar; however, by the time troopers got there, the suspect was gone.A police report did not indicate if the bartender, a 50-year-old Chicora woman, was hurt.12:44 a.m. Saturday — Thomas McKee Sr., 57, of Fenelton was arrested for allegedly driving under the influence on East Jefferson Street in Butler. McKee, who was unable to get a ride home, was placed in the Butler County Prison to await arraignment on charges of DUI, careless driving and a lighting violation.Tuesday — Rastis O. Marcy, 38, was arrested after he allegedly assaulted Erika Steighner during a domestic dispute at their home in the 300 block of Holyoke Road in Center Township.Steighner, who had a large bruise on her left arm, told police that Marcy punched her in the arm and choked her, court documents said. Police noted that the defendant reeked of alcohol and he allegedly admitted also being on methadone.Marcy was arraigned on charges of simple assault, harassment and public drunkenness. He was placed in the Butler County Prison on $10,000 bail following arraignment.

State Police, Franklin6:45 p.m. Sunday — A car driven by Joshua R. Slocum, 34, of Johnstown, Cambria County struck a deer on Route 8 just south of Georgetown Road in Irwin Township. No one was hurt but the car had to be towed.

State Police, KittanningSunday — An unknown thief stole bags of Chaffhaye brand alfalfa on Fosters Mills Road in Sugar Creek Township. A police report did specify how many bags were taken. Anyone with information about the theft is asked to call police at 724-543-2011.10:37 p.m. Saturday — A 26-year-old West Hickory man, who police did not identify, was arrested for suspicion of driving under the influence on Route 28 north in North Buffalo Township.7:55 p.m. Saturday — A 27-year-old East Butler man, who police did not identify, was arrested for suspicion of DUI on Route 28 north in O’Hara Township, Allegheny County. The driver also was caught with suspected drugs and other contraband.Saturday — An unknown amount of money was stolen in a burglary at the Kittanning Country Club on Belltop Drive in North Buffalo Township. Police have no suspects in the break-in that happened between 7 p.m. Friday and 7 a.m. SaturdaySaturday — An unknown vandal set fire to a 72-year-old Freeport man’s tree stand on Elkin Road in Wayne Township.Sept. 9 — A pistol, gold crucifix and a $20 bill were stolen from a 64-year-old man’s home on Adrian Sherrett Road in Washington Township, Armstrong County.The black 9 mm pistol is described as a Ruger LC9S with a 3-inch barrel. A loaded magazine was in the gun, valued at $500. The crucifix is valued at $100.Anyone with information is asked to call police at 724 — 543-2011.

State Police, Mercer,/b>Sunday — An unknown burglar made off with a large amount of merchandise from the Fossil store at Premium Outlets in Springfield Township. The break-in happened between 10 p.m. Saturday and 6 a.m. Sunday.
