Cranberry Township Police9 a.m. July 27 — Michael J. Christopher, 35, of Pittsburgh was arrested and arraigned on three felony charges stemming from an alleged incident May 31.Christopher and another male allegedly ran out of the Best Buy store around 2:40 p.m. with numerous stolen items, according to court records.The store reported to police that it was missing three digital thermostats and 11 security cameras. The total value of the missing items was $2,849.The two males drove away in an SUV. Christopher was identified by officers who viewed surveillance footage from the store.Because of two previous retail theft convictions, he was charged with felony counts of conspiracy, retail theft and stolen property. He is free on $2,000 bail.4:30 p.m. Sunday — Police arrested a man accused of stealing toner cartridges from Costco on two occasions.Nathan J. Graf, 31, on June 30 allegedly used a backpack to conceal six toner cartridges, valued at $540, and left the store, according to court records.Then on July 31, he was apprehended by store security when he allegedly concealed eight cartridges, valued at $679, in the same backpack.A search of his person allegedly yielded two hypodermic needles and a Costco membership card belonging to another man.Graf is charged with two counts of felony criminal trespassing, two counts of misdemeanor retail theft, two counts of misdemeanor identity theft, one count of receiving stolen property, and one count of possession of drug paraphernalia.He is in Butler County Prison $15,000 bail.
Grove City PoliceMonday — A Ninja blender was stolen from a home in the 300 block of West Main Street. The blender was last seen at 4 p.m. Anyone with information is asked to call police at 724-458-7925.
State Police, Butler6:38 p.m. Tuesday — A lawn chair on the highway was blamed for a rear-end collision in Allegheny Township.The crash happened in the right lane on Interstate 80 west where Sukhjit Singh, 28, of Carteret, N.J., stopped his tractor-trailer to avoid the lawn chair on the road. Moments later, another tractor-trailer slammed into the back of Singh’s rig.Singh and the other driver, Lee Shurburne, 32, of York, Pa., both suffered unspecified injuries. Police said Shurburne’s rig had to be towed. The Emlenton Volunteer Fire Department assisted police at the scene.Tuesday — Police are investigating an incident relating to criminal mischief at Vicnor Farms on Ash Stop Road in Forward Township. A police report did not specify the vandalism at the business.Monday — A handgun was reported stolen from a 69-year-old man’s home on Route 8 in Slippery Rock Township. The investigation is ongoing.3:22 a.m. Sunday — An unknown thief stole an electric drain snake outside Murdick’s Auto Parts on Evans City Road in Connoquenessing Township. Anyone with information is asked to call police at 724-284-8100. The investigation continues.
State Police, Clarion12:25 a.m. Monday — Joshua K. Lance, 20, of Emlenton lost control of his car, apparently after falling asleep, and crashed into an embankment on Callensburg Road in Toby Township. Police said they cited Lance for disregarding traffic lanes.
State Police, Franklin12:31 a.m. Wednesday — Joshua A. Cooper, 36, of Emlenton landed in trouble with the law for fighting with three girls on River Avenue in Emlenton. Police charged Cooper with disorderly conduct and three counts of harassment.8:58 p.m. Sunday — A Jefferson County teenager fell asleep at the wheel and crashed her car in a guardrail on Interstate 80 in Irwin Township. Anna S. Grech, 18, of Reynoldsville was not hurt but her car had to be towed.Police cited Grech for careless driving and not wearing a seat belt. The Clintonville Volunteer Fire Department assisted police at the scene.
State Police, Mercer5:15 p.m. Tuesday — A sport utility vehicle driven by Chad A. Moore, 36, of Grove City and a car driven by Isabella R. Halter, 17, of Cranberry Township collided on Route 19 just south of Dydeks Lane in Springfield Township. Police said Moore was cited for making an improper left turn.
