Butler Police7:08 p.m. Sunday — Tammy J. Connors, 51, of Butler was arrested after she was caught allegedly shoplifting $18.61 in merchandise, including a baby’s outfit, two hair ties and a stick deodorant, at the Pullman Square Kmart store.Connors, who has three prior arrests for shoplifting, was arraigned on a felony count of retail theft and placed in Butler County Prison on $5,000 bail.10:32 p.m. Wednesday — Richard W. Jay, 37, was arrested after he allegedly assaulted his girlfriend, Cassiopia Small, during a domestic dispute at their home on Summit Street. Jay is accused of pushing the woman, striking her in the face and slamming the door on her foot.Small suffered minor injuries. The defendant was arraigned on a charge of simple assault and placed in Butler County Prison on $5,000 bail.July 26 — Ryan A. Williams, 37, of Slippery Rock was arrested on charges he attacked a former girlfriend, Angela Mankey, at her home on the 400 block of Peach Street.Williams is accused of showing up at Mankey’s home about 7 p.m. and demanding to see her cell phone to see with whom she had been texting and talking, according to court documents. She told police that she had previously ended their relationship, which the defendant had not accepted,During the incident, Williams allegedly threw her phone, breaking it, and threatened to kill the woman. He eventually coerced her into his truck and drove off, demanding that she direct them to her new boyfriend’s house, documents said.While traveling, Mankey’s said, the suspect slammed on his brakes, causing her head to hit the dashboard. The two subsequently returned to her home about 11:30 p.m., documents said, where he grabbed her and shoved her into a dog crate. Mankey told police that the assault occurred in front of her 3-year-old son.Williams was arraigned on a charge of simple assault and placed in Butler County Prison on $2,000 bail.

Butler Twp Police7:05 p.m. Sunday — Two people were injured in a two-vehicle wreck at Whitestown and Duffy roads. The crash happened, according to a police report, when a vehicle driven by John Marchyshyn, 51, of Butler ran a red light, causing the collision with a vehicle driven by Charlotte Moore, 68, of Butler.Marchyshyn was flown by medical helicopter to Allegheny General Hospital in Pittsburgh. His injuries were described as serious. Moore was taken by ambulance to Butler Memorial Hospital with unspecified injuries.Police said their investigation continues.1 p.m. Sunday — Grant W. Barkley, 24, of Zelienople was caught allegedly underringing $147 in merchandise at the self-checkout aisle at the Butler Commons’ Walmart. He is charged with retail theft.4:01 p.m. Saturday — Donald Thompson, 58, of Butler lost control of his car while pulling out of a parking space at the GetGo store on Route 8 north and traveled over a 3-foot high retaining wall. Thompson was not hurt but his car had to be towed.10:49 p.m. Friday — Kyle J. Curley, 24, of Lawrence, Kan., was arrested for suspicion of driving under the influence at the Gaiser Addiction Center on Old Plank Road. Police found Curley and another man at the facility where they were called for two drunk men refusing to leave.Officers said Curley and Robbie Livingston, 24, of Brimhall, N.M., were both “highly intoxicated.” Curley was arrested for DUI and trespass by vehicle. Livingston was arrested for public drunkenness.Curley was arraigned on charges and placed in Butler County Prison on $2,500 bail. Livingston was cited and later released.3:33 p.m. Friday — Raymond Shaffer, 46, of Kittanning lost control of his vehicle, which was towing a utility trailer, and crashed on Route 422. The wreck happened when the trailer shifted. The vehicle spun around and hit an embankment.2:38 p.m. Thursday — An unidentified car struck another vehicle at South Main Street and Metzgar Avenue and did not stop. Police continue to look for the suspect car, a newer model Ford Fusion, and the hit-and-run driver, who is believed to be a black woman in her late-20s or early-30s.The unknown driver was described as being about 5 feet, 9 inches tall and 130 pounds, and having red hair.Police suspect the driver ran a stop sign and hit the other vehicle driven by Kevin Daugherty, 44, of Butler. Daugherty and his two daughters, 6 and 10, who were riding in the vehicle, were not injured.The suspect car, police said, has front-end damage. Anyone with information is asked to call police at 724-285-9600.4:45 p.m. July 25 — Vehicles driven by Leanne Heaton, 64, of Butler and Kirby Johnston, 53, of West Sunbury collided at Benbrook Road and Greenwood Drive. Police cited Heaton for making an improper left turn.

Grove City PoliceFriday — Police arrested Jaquais Davis, 22, of Gilmore Avenue stemming from a traffic warrant.Thursday — Jacob E. Bennett, 28, of Grove City was cited for theft of services after he allegedly cut a tamper-evident tag and restored electricity to his home.

State Police, ButlerWednesday — A felony arrest warrant was issued for a Lawrence County man accused of making several purchases with another man’s credit and debit cards that was stolen from the victim’s shorts in a locker at Armco Park in Slippery Rock Township.The victim told police that he discovered his wallet, which contained the cards, was missing after he began receiving text messages alerting him that his cards were being used. He later learned that two different cards were used to make purchases totaling $214.72 at different stores in the Slippery Rock and Butler areas.Four other would-be purchases that totaled $81.80 were declined, police said.Investigators subsequently obtained three receipts from two stores that showed Price had signed the victim’s name, according to court documents.Price is charged with three felony counts of forgery. He also is charged with five counts of access device fraud and two counts of receiving stolen property, all misdemeanors.11:11 a.m. July 13 — Darius J. Davis, 19, of Parker was arrested for suspicion of driving under the influence on Station Street in Bruin. Police said that Davis along with DUI faces charges of drug possession and unspecified traffic offenses.
