12:34 a.m. Thursday — Kelly D. Howard, 31, of Parker was found with suspected drugs at Butler Memorial Hospital where she was taken after apparently injuring herself while intoxicated.

Police were initially called for a report of two people yelling at each other while walking up and down the street in the 400 block of Zeigler Avenue. Officers found Howard lying on the sidewalk, crying, and another woman standing next to her, according to court documents.

The suspect had an injury to the back of her head, apparently from falling onto the sidewalk, and appeared impaired, police said. She admitted having had alcohol.

An ambulance later took Howard to the hospital. Emergency room staff found a suspected stamp bag of heroin on her, documents said. Police searched her purse and found suspected contraband.

Police said a toxicology report subsequently found she had cocaine in her system and her blood-alcohol level was 0.24 percent.
