12:19 p.m. Friday — Randy Lee Bollinger, 37, of Butler, was charged with possession of a controlled substance and paraphernalia.

Police said Jarrod Lee Shoaf, 34, of Chicora, was seen driving the wrong way down McKean Street when he was stopped, and Bollinger was in the passenger seat slumped over and pale.

Caps for a syringe were seen in his lap and a syringe was in his right hand, police said.

Police said when they removed Bollinger from the vehicle, they saw a spoon, two full bags of heroin and three empty bags on the passenger side. An Ativan pill was found in the center console, police said.

An ambulance was called because Bollinger was breathing but unresponsive.

Shoaf told police he had just picked up Bollinger. He said he was trying to get him to a hospital and that’s why he went the wrong way down the street. Bollinger became responsive, and he refused further treatment.
