Butler PoliceSaturday — Thomas P. Romspert, 24, was arrested after he allegedly assaulted his on-again, off-again girlfriend, Kelsie Parker, during a domestic dispute at his apartment in the 200 block of West Brady Street.Parker told police that she stayed overnight at Romspert's apartment. The next day, she tried to take some of her property but he wouldn't let her. He allegedly slapped her face, causing a bruise on her left cheek.Romspert also is accused of punching Parker in the face, which caused a cut above her right eye. She left and continued to text him all day.Later, when she returned to the apartment to pick up her property, documents said, he grabbed her, which caused bruising to the left side of her chest.Police were called and arrested Romspert. At the apartment, they found a marijuana grinder. He was arraigned on charges of simple assault and possession of drug paraphernalia, and placed in the Butler County Prison on $1,500 bail.
Butler Twp Police5:13 p.m. Thursday — No one was injured in a three-vehicle, chain-reaction accident on Meridian Road near Route 68. The wreck happened when a car driven by Brooke McDeavitt, 20, of Butler rear-ended another vehicle driven by Christopher Singleton, 44, of Butler.The crash pushed Singleton's vehicle, which was stopped, into the back of another stopped vehicle, driven by Kathy Walker, 50, of Butler. Police cited McDeavitt for careless driving.12:59 a.m. May 16 — James Wooster, 43, of Butler was arrested for suspicion of driving under the influence following a traffic stop on Hansen Avenue. He also faces charges of driving without a license, driving the wrong way on a one-way road, a lighting violation and careless driving.May 15 — Jennifer L. Lengyel, 46, of Bridgeville, Allegheny County, was arrested for suspicion of DUI following a traffic stop on New Castle Road. She also faces charges of driving without a license, making an improper turn and careless driving.
State Police, ButlerMay 13 — Police charged Kevin S. Walker, 40, of Fenelton with trying to illegally buy a firearm Nov. 17 at Logan's Gun Gallery in Washington Township. He is charged with unlawfully attempting to buy a firearm, a felony, and making a false statement to authorities, a misdemeanor.May 6 — Chad R. Ashcraft, 20, of Butler was charged with drugged driving and drug possession stemming from an incident about 10:20 p.m. March 31 in the parking lot at the Clearview Mall in Center Township.He is charged with driving under the influence of a controlled substance, possession of a controlled substance and drug paraphernalia, and disorderly conduct.Police also charged another man in the same incident. Isaac J. Fowler, 19, of Prospect is charged with possession of drug paraphernalia and disorderly conduct.
State Police, FranklinMay 24 — Randall S. Whitling, 27, of Pittsburgh was charged with several drug-related offenses stemming from a traffic stop about 8:10 p.m. May 18 on Route 8 in Irwin Township.Whiting is charged with possession of a small amount of marijuana, six counts of possession of drug paraphernalia, speeding, disorderly conduct and driving without rear lights.
State Police, MercerSaturday — Police charged Ryan C. Neal, 32, of Hadley with being impaired at 1:19 a.m. March 29 when a patrol trooper spotted him walking in the middle of the westbound lane on Route 356 in Perry Township, Mercer County.Neal is charged with possession of a small amount of marijuana, public drunkenness and intoxicated pedestrian causing a hazard.
State Police, New CastleTuesday — Someone apparently targeted a Slippery Rock area man in an unusual case of criminal mischief.First, the suspect discarded a mid-sized refrigerator on the driveway of the victim's home on Rentz Lane in Scott Township. Then, the suspect fired a shotgun at a “No Trespassing” sign. The sign was destroyed.
