Monday — Police filed a pair of criminal charges against Amanda White, 35, of Butler stemming from a traffic stop last week. An officer stopped White at 9:25 p.m. May 10 when he spotted her car going the wrong way on North Cedar Street.

White initially gave a bogus name and she claimed that she did not have her driver’s license with her. She eventually identified herself and admitted that her license was suspended.

Police also learned that White was wanted on a warrant. She was arrested and taken to the station, where a search of her wallet turned up two empty stamp bags of suspected heroin.

White is charged with possession of drug paraphernalia and false identification to law enforcement authorities, both misdemeanors. Additionally, police cited her for driving with a suspended license and driving the wrong way on a one-way road.

Monday — Jordan R. Zulick, 20, of Prospect was charged in connection with a case of suspected vandalism last month at the Subway restaurant on West Cunningham Street.

Officers were called to the business at 7:10 p.m. April 29 after employees reported a man had been in a bathroom for “an extended period of time.”. The employees were apparently concerned for the man’s welfare.

But before police got there, the man left the restaurant.

He left the bathroom in disarray: the sink was knocked off the wall and pipes were broken, the report said. A capped syringe was found on the floor.

The suspect, identified as Zulick, returned to the business later that night. Police this time got him, the report said.

He admitted he shot up heroin in the bathroom but he claimed he did not intentionally damage the facility. He told police the sink simply broke when he leaned in it. Damage was estimated at $250.

Police charged Zulick with criminal mischief and possession of drug paraphernalia.
