Adams Twp PoliceMonday — James L. Cook III, 46, of Wexford was charged with a misdemeanor for bad checks.Monday — Gerald A. McNally, 22, of Freeport was charged with misdemeanor possession of drug paraphernalia from an alleged incident May 5.

Butler Twp Police4:37 p.m. May 7 — Nathan Marshall, 33, of Fombell, was charged with possession of drug paraphernalia, while Sarah Snodgrass, 36, of Slippery Rock, was charged with having a prohibited offensive weapon, metal knuckles, both at Walmart. Snodgrass also was charged with possession of a controlled substance and possession of drug paraphernalia.

Cranberry Twp. PoliceWednesday — Mary K. Herzog, 49, of Cranberry Township was charged with driving under the influence of a controlled substance after a traffic stop April 24.Wednesday — Carla J. Bartles, 63, of Cranberry Township was charged with driving under the influence from a traffic stop March 26.Wednesday — Tugger J. King, 34, of Pittsburgh was charged with writing bad checks.

Evans City-Seven Fields PoliceMonday — A husband and wife are facing charges for allegedly verbally assaulting an Evans City woman this month.Ronald G. Stefanowicz, 50, and Michelle C. Stefanowicz, 44, both of Evans City, are accused of harassing Jennifer Galat May 3 at her apartment building on Van Buren Street.Ronald Stefanowicz’s mother lives in the same building and Galat told police she encountered him in the building’s laundry room, where he called her vulgar names and made false accusations about her, according to court records.Ronald and Michelle Stefanowicz also allegedly yelled insults to her later that day outside the building, including Ronald Stefanowicz allegedly threatening to kill her.When an officer talked to the two suspects at their house on Belle Street, he allegedly discovered that Ronald Stefanowicz was intoxicated.They allegedly admitted to yelling insults, and Michelle Stefanowicz said that she was stating her opinion and had freedom of speech.They are both charged with two counts of misdemeanor harassment and two counts of disorderly conduct.Ronald Stefanowicz also was charged with two counts of public drunkenness and was taken to Butler County Prison for violating his probation. He has two DUI convictions.

Jackson Twp. PoliceMonday — Devon G. Poupore, 20, of Evans City was charged with driving under the influence of a controlled substance after a traffic stop April 23.Monday — Steven W. Hennigan, 44, of Cranberry Township was charged with driving under the influence from a traffic stop Sunday. He also was charged with disregarding a traffic lane.Monday — Ryan A. Ward, 37, of Pittsburgh was charged with driving under the influence second offense from a traffic stop April 16. He also was charged with careless driving and disregarding traffic lanes, both summary offenses.Tuesday — Kenneth W. Thompson, 74, of Evans City was charged with driving under the influence from a traffic stop April 27. He is also charged with careless driving.

Lancaster Twp. PoliceMonday — Christian M. Winfield, 19, of Zelienople was charged with misdemeanor possession of a controlled substance from an alleged incident May 9.

Kittanning State Police7:58 p.m. Thursday — Kyle D. Dickson, 25, of Kittanning was charged with driving under the influence. He arrived at the state police barracks in Kittanning for an interview in regards to an earlier incident. He was seen driving into the barracks parking lot while being visibly intoxicated. He refused a blood test and was charged with a DUI.In the earlier incident at 7:29 p.m. that day, Dickson was charged with indecent exposure. He allegedly exited a vehicle stopped at a traffic light on Butler Road in Kittanning and exposed himself to a man and a woman, both of Rimersburg, who were in a vehicle behind him.

State Police, Mercer4:30 a.m. Friday — Michael L. Ritts, 48, of Franklin was driving on Burdette Road in Worth Township, Mercer County, when he applied his brakes and his vehicle skidded about 123 feet to a stop sign. The vehicle continued to skid across intersecting Route 2021 until it hit a tree. Ritts was not injured.3:58 Thursday — A man from Brownsville, Texas, is being investigated for criminal mischief that happened at a business on Route 58 in Pine Township. The man accelerated his vehicle quickly for an extended distance in a gravel parking lot causing gravel to be thrown into the air, which hit the car of a woman from Saxonburg. The investigation continues.11:34 Tuesday — Liam T. Flynn, 23, of Telluride, Colo., was driving west on Route 80 in Lackawannock Township when he swerved his vehicle to miss a dog. His vehicle hit an embankment and rolled onto its passenger side. Flynn was not injured and his vehicle was towed.
