Butler PoliceMonday — Angela C. Carlson, 23, of Connoquenessing Township was charged in a felony warrant with a weekend shoplifting incident at a store in the Pullman Square shopping plaza.Police said employees at the Family Dollar just before 3 p.m. Saturday spotted Carlson hide a bag of Reese's mini peanut butter cups in her pants. She also allegedly took a hair band.A later search of the suspect's bookbag, according to court documents, turned up three capped syringes.Police obtained an arrest warrant for Carlson, who has two prior shoplifting convictions, on a felony count of retail theft. She also is charged with misdemeanor possession of a drug paraphernalia.

Butler Twp. Police5:44 p.m. Monday — An unidentified car, believed to be a new blue sedan, traveling south on Old Plank Road struck two mailboxes, two newspaper boxes and a road sign. The driver, an unknown male, did not stop. His car should have front-end damage.Anyone with information about the hit-and-run crash is asked to call police at 724-285-9600.2:51 p.m. Monday — One person was hurt when a car driven by James A. Clouse, 68, of Butler rear-ended another vehicle on Route 8 north near Filbert Road. The other driver, Cindy Henson, 48, of Butler, was taken to Butler Memorial Hospital with unknown injuries.Police cited Clouse for driving at an unsafe speed.2:26 a.m. Monday — Orlando Palacios, 27, of Butler lost control of his car and struck an embankment, two signs and a mailbox in front of a home in the 200 block of Evans City Road.10:47 a.m. Friday — Terry Beth Morse, 56, of Butler allegedly shoplifted 12 items from the Target store at Butler Commons. The stolen merchandise was valued at $138.76.Police said Morse on Saturday turned herself in at the township police station. A four-time convicted shoplifter, she was later arraigned on a felony charge of retail theft and a misdemeanor charge of receiving stolen property.Morse was placed in Butler County Prison on $5,000 bail following arraignment.1:44 p.m. Thursday — Chad M. Spahn, 27, of Butler was arrested after he was caught allegedly shoplifting $45 worth of merchandise at the Butler Commons' Walmart. He ran out of the store when a security employee tried to stop him.Police arrested him a short time later after spotting him walking through the VA Butler Healthcare complex on New Castle Road.Spahn, who has at least two prior arrests for shoplifting, was arraigned on a felony count of retail theft and placed in the Butler County Prison on $5,000 bail.

State Police, Butler1:53 a.m. March 5 — Brandi T. Plaisted, 25, of Butler was arrested for suspected drunken driving after she was stopped for traveling too slowly and swerving in her lane on Route 8 just north of Benbrook Road in Center Township.According to court documents, Plaisted drove at a speed of 39 mph in a 55 mph zone for at least one mile.The suspect, who smelled of alcohol, failed field sobriety tests and was later taken to the barracks for a breath test. The test showed her blood-alcohol level was 0.123 percent. A level of 0.08 percent is considered intoxicated under state law,In addition to driving under the influence, Plaisted is charged with driving too slow for conditions and careless driving.

State Police, Kittanning5:31 p.m. Tuesday — Two men face drug-related charges following a traffic stop in Butler County. The 23-year-old driver of Sarver was arrested for suspicion of driving under the influence of narcotics and marijuana after the stop on Route 28 south in Buffalo Township.The 23-year-old passenger of Natrona Heights, Allegheny County, was found with suspected marijuana. Police said charges against both men are pending lab results.

State Police, Clarion11 p.m. Sunday — One person was hurt in a one-car crash in Toby Township. Calvin L. Beabout Jr., 38, of Sligo, a passenger, suffered moderate injuries. He was wearing a seat belt,The driver, Bobby G. Dunkle, 49, of Parker, was westbound on Bela Road near Conner Road when he lost control of the car on gravel and struck an embankment.Police cited Dunkle with driving too fast for conditions, driving with a suspended license, driving a vehicle without insurance and without valid inspection, and failing to stop and give information or render aid after an accident.

State Police, New CastleSunday — An unknown suspect stole an all-terrain vehicle from the back of a pickup truck at a home on Trusel Road in Slippery Rock Township, Lawrence County. The theft happened between 11:30 p.m. Saturday and 6 a.m. Sunday.The ATV was found at 2 p.m. Sunday in a corn field about one mile from the owner's house.
