7:30 p.m. Thursday — Terry Lee Fair, 46, of Butler was arrested after a reported domestic assault on Woodbury Drive. The victim, who police did not immediately identify, refused medical treatment. Fair is charged with simple assault and harassment.
[naviga:h3]Grove City Police[/naviga:h3]
Friday — Police charged Jennifer S. Fine, 34, of Grove City with being a habitual offender for driving with a suspended license after they spotted her Feb. 27 on Elm Street.
12:23 p.m. Thursday — One person was hurt when a vehicle driven by Joseph Rossi, 58, of Grove City rear-ended another vehicle that was stopped to make a turn in the 1300 block of West Main Street.
Rossi’s passenger, who police did not identify, was taken to the Grove City Medical Center with unspecified injuries. Police said Rossi faces a ticket for following too closely to another vehicle. Earl Anderson, 54, of Mercer was the other driver.
8:44 p.m. March 6 — Two Portersville boys were caught following a burglar alarm activation at Cooper Industrial Commons on Lincoln Avenue. The boys, ages 15 and 16, were cited for trespass on the property. Both teens were released to their parents.
[naviga:h3]State Police, Butler[/naviga:h3]
6:30 p.m. Saturday — A 22-year-old Slippery Rock man was arrested for suspicion of driving under the influence on Route 356 at the Sheetz store in Buffalo Township. The driver, who police did not identify, also was found with suspected marijuana and drug paraphernalia.
8:10 p.m. Friday — A sport utility vehicle driven by Betty E. McKisson, 79, of Strattanville, Clarion County, struck a deer on Route 28 just north of exit 17 in Buffalo Township.
[naviga:h3]State Police, Franklin[/naviga:h3]
5:35 p.m. Saturday — Brent J. McClaine, 44, of Harrisville was hurt when the pickup truck he was driving struck a mailbox before traveling about 100 yards through a field and hitting a tree along Slippery Rock Road in Irwin Township.
McClaine, who was not wearing a seat belt, suffered minor injuries. He left the scene before troopers got there. A wrecker had to tow away the truck.
Police cited McClaine for failing to immediately notify police of an accident, driving on the wrong side of the road and not wearing a seat belt.
[naviga:h3]State Police, Kittanning[/naviga:h3]
12:48 a.m. today — A 46-year-old Ford City man, who police did not identify, was arrested for suspicion of driving under the influence on Route 66 in Manor Township.
9:30 p.m. Sunday — A thief stole an Apple iPhone 6 that a 36-year-old man had placed on a shelf at the Hilltop Plaza Walmart. The man told police that after setting the phone down he forgot about it. When he returned to get it, the phone was gone.
Police said their investigation continues and anyone with information is asked to call police at 724-543-2011.
[naviga:h3]State Police, Mercer[/naviga:h3]
8:10 p.m. Wednesday — A traffic stop in southeastern Mercer County landed two out-of-state men behind bars after they were caught with about $11,000 in stolen merchandise.
Among the seized property in the stop on Interstate 80 in Findley Township were 11 Apple iPhones and 27 gift cards.
Both suspects — Jenna Luz Alise Tomlin, 22 of Wilmington, Del.; and Stephan K. Carnegie, 23, of Brooklyn, N.Y. — also were found with phony identification and fake credit cards.
Tomlin and Carnegie were both arraigned on charges of receiving stolen property, access device fraud and identity theft and possession of counterfeit access devices.
Additionally, Carnegie is charged with false identification to law enforcement authorities, driving with a suspended license and failing to keep right.
Both defendants were placed in the Mercer County Jail on $50,000 bail each following arraignment.
9:09 p.m. March 4 — One person was hurt in a one-vehicle wreck in Worth Township. Jodi L. Moody, 53, of Polk, the driver, was flown by medical helicopter to St. Elizabeth Youngstown Hospital in Ohio with serious injuries.
Police said Moody lost control of her pickup truck on Route 965 and struck a guardrail, sending the vehicle airborne before hitting the ground and rolling off. The truck ended on its roof.
Jackson Center volunteer firefighters had to extricate Moody, who was not wearing a seat belt, from the wreckage of her truck. Police said she was cited for driving at an unsafe speed.
