Butler Police5:38 p.m. Sunday — Krystal K. Krauchak, 27, of Butler was arrested after she was caught allegedly shoplifting $34.64 in merchandise at the Friedman's store on West Brady Street.Krauchak, who has two prior arrests for shoplifting, was arraigned on a felony count of retail theft. She was placed in Butler County Prison on $5,000 bail following arraignment.8:55 p.m. Thursday — Tyler J. Hartman, 18, was arrested after he allegedly assaulted his father, Joseph L. Hartman Jr., during a domestic dispute at his home on the 400 block of Mercer Street. The suspect is accused of punching his father in the head, causing facial bleeding.Hartman was arraigned on a charge of simple assault, and placed in Butler County Prison on $1,000 bail.
Butler Twp PoliceMonday — A 19-year-old Zelienople man was charged for the second time with drunken driving stemming from a one-vehicle crash about 2:30 p.m. Jan. 10 on Whitestown Road.The suspect, Logan J. Cahall, is charged with driving under the influence of alcohol and a controlled substance, DUI by a minor, possession of a small amount of marijuana and drug paraphernalia, and underage drinking.Additionally, police cited him for driving a vehicle without inspection, disregarding traffic lanes, driving at an unsafe speed and driving with worn tires.12:06 p.m. Sunday — Kenneth T. Flohr, 29, of Butler was caught with suspected marijuana and drug contraband following a traffic stop on Main Street in Lyndora. Flohr is charged with possession of a small amount or marijuana and drug paraphernalia.Police also cited him for driving without a license and driving a vehicle with suspended registration.10:33 p.m. Saturday — Debra Myers, 53, of Butler was hurt in a two-vehicle collision at Route 422 and Greenwood Drive. The crash happened when a car driven by Kiara Yough, 16, of Chicora ran a stop sign and hit the vehicle that Myers was driving.Butler Township Fire District 3 volunteer firefighters had to extricate Myers from her vehicle. She was taken to Butler Memorial Hospital with moderate injuries.Police said Yough was cited for the stop sign violation.3:52 p.m. Saturday — Sarah E. Archer, 27, of Butler was arrested after she suffered an apparent drug overdose in the women's bathroom at the Butler Commons' Walmart. She is charged with public drunkenness and possession of drug paraphernalia.5:17 p.m. Friday — Logan R. Maher, 19, of Butler lost control of her car and struck an embankment on Evans Road. Police cited him for driving too fast for conditions.12:09 p.m. Friday — A car driven by Karen Cooper, 76, and a minivan driven by Deanna Hartle, no age given, both of Butler collided in the parking lot at Butler Commons.6:55 a.m. Friday — A car driven by a 17-year-old Butler boy, who police did not identify, rear-ended a vehicle on Hansen Avenue near Whitestown Road. Jeffrey Dashio, 34, of Lyndora was the other driver.1:35 p.m. Jan. 6 — A 15-year-old student at Butler Intermediate High School threatened another student. Police did not identify the suspect, a Butler boy, who is charged with terroristic threats and harassment.
State Police, Butler4:10 p.m. Monday — A 33-year-old Butler woman was hurt when she lost control of her sport utility vehicle and struck several trees after crashing in a field on the 100 block of Benbrook Road in Center Township. She was treated at Butler Memorial Hospital for minor injuries and released.Police did not immediately file an accident report and the woman's name was not released.Monday — An arrest warrant was issued for Jeffrey D. McMillen, 24, of Butler on charges he sold heroin to a police informant last year in Butler.The felony and misdemeanor drug charges were filed in connection with a controlled drug buy Feb. 12, 2015, when McMillen sold 19 bags of heroin to the informant for $240, according to court documents.Anyone with information about McMillen's whereabouts is asked to call police at 724-284-8100.7:18 a.m. Friday — Matthew J. Cadamore, 18, of Cabot lost control of his pickup truck and struck a tree along Winfield Road just south of Brose Road in Winfield Township. Neither the teen nor his 12-year-old passenger was hurt. Both occupants were wearing seat belts.Police cited Cadamore for driving too fast for conditions.1:38 a.m. Friday — A 45-year-old Butler woman, who police did not identify, was arrested for suspicion of driving under the influence on North Benbrook Road in Center Township. Police said charges are pending.8:50 a.m. Thursday — Dat T. Luu, 26, of Butler was hurt when he lost control of his car and crashed into an embankment and rolled over several times on Route 356 between Headland Road and Harvest Lane in Jefferson Township.Luu, who was wearing a seat belt, was taken to Butler Memorial Hospital with unknown injuries. He was cited for disregarding traffic lanes.Wednesday — An arrest warrant was issued for Rachel C. Baylock, 38, of Butler on charges that she stole $2,925 from an ex-boyfriend, who lives in Oakland Township, by forging his name to checks and cashing them. The suspected crime happened between Nov. 20 and Jan. 16.Baylock is charged with a felony count of theft and a misdemeanor count of forgery.Wednesday — Wayne C. Boyle, 40, was charged in a suspected case of domestic violence last month at his home on McEvoy Road in Clearfield Township.Police said the defendant on Dec. 6 punched his wife, Linda S. Boyle, and told her to leave the house or he would kill her. He continued to hit her after she left the home and retreated to her vehicle, court documents said.Boyle, who was later taken to Butler Memorial Hospital for a mental health evaluation, is charged with terroristic threats, simple assault and harassment.Wednesday — Police charged Iain M. Allen, 40, of Pittsburgh with drugged driving stemming from a Christmas Eve crash in Cherry Township.Allen lost control of his car about 6:30 a.m. on Branchton Road and hit a utility pole near Grubb Road. He blamed the wreck on a deer in the road.He also admitted he takes daily prescription medication, according to court documents, including Xanax, which is prescribed to treat panic disorder and anxiety, and Suboxone, which is both a prescription painkiller and, like methadone, is used to help addicts wean themselves off heroin and other addictive opioids.Police suspected Allen was impaired and he was eventually arrested and taken for a blood test. Toxicology results showed he tested positive for alprazolam, the generic name for the medication Xanax; and for buprenorphine, the drug marketed as Suboxone.In addition to driving under the influence of a controlled substance, he is charged with driving on the wrong side of the road, driving too fast for conditions, careless driving, reckless driving and not wearing a seat belt.
State Police, Clarion11:02 a.m. Wednesday — Dennis G. Reesman, 58, of Rimersburg was hurt when he lost control of his truck and crashed over an embankment along Route 68 at Bodenhorn Road in Monroe Township. The truck hit a ditch and mailbox before ending in a field.Reesman, who was not wearing a seat belt, was flown by medical helicopter to UPMC Presbyterian hospital in Pittsburgh with moderate injuries. Police said he was cited for disregarding traffic lanes.
State Police, KittanningMonday — Police are seeking the public's help in trying to track down the driver of a weekend hit-and-run crash in East Franklin Township.The driver, while eastbound on the 1200 block of Butler Road, went off the south berm, hitting a utility pole and mailbox. The pole, owned by West Penn Power, sustained minor damage. The mailbox, owned by an 80-year-old woman, was destroyed.Following the wreck, the driver did a U-turn in the woman's yard and fled west on Butler Road. Police recovered a red rear trunk spoiler wing that came off the suspect's car.The spoiler is from a 2006 to 2011 model two-door, Honda Civic SI, according to a police report. The suspect car, police noted, should have front and rear passenger side damage.Anyone with information about the hit-and-run is asked to call police at 724-543-2011.9:06 p.m. Thursday — A suspected drunken driver was stopped for speeding at more than 100 mph on Route 28 just north of the Buffalo Bridge in South Buffalo Township.Police did not identify the 47-year-old driver, from O'Hara Township, Allegheny County. Charges are pending toxicology results.
