Butler PoliceMonday — Police charged Ryan M. Napier, 38, of Butler with a pair of misdemeanors in connection with a suspected heroin overdose at a home on the 300 block of Hansen Avenue. Medics already were treating Napier in the basement when police got there.The opioid antidote Narcan was used to revive the suspect. Next to him on a coffee table was a cigarette pack that contained two stamp bags and four empty bags of suspected heroin, court documents said.Monday — Kison L. Ironcloud, 33, of Franklin Township was charged with possession of a controlled substance stemming from a traffic stop about 11:30 a.m. Nov. 14 on the 400 block of West Jefferson Street.Police said they stopped the suspect’s car after noticing he was driving “aimlessly,” court documents said. Officers grew more suspicious while questioning him. A K-9 officer eventually detected an odor of suspected drugs coming from the vehicle.Ironcloud was ordered out of the car. He was searched and found with a stamp bag of suspected heroin.Monday — Police charged a Kentucky man with misdemeanor drug possession in connection with a traffic stop about 12:10 p.m. Nov. 18 on the 100 block of West New Castle Street.The suspect, Chancey T. Rainey, 36, of Danville, was driving an unregistered vehicle with a suspended license, according to court documents. He was later searched and found with prescription sublingual pills that were in an Advil container.The pills, for which Rainey did not have a prescription, are used to treat opiate addiction. He is charged with possession of a controlled substance. Police also cited him for driving under suspension, driving a vehicle without registration, driving without insurance and careless driving.3:03 p.m. Thursday — Austin G. Harmon, 20, no known address, was arrested on felony drug charges after police found him with suspected heroin and crack cocaine in a car at the Butler Technologies parking lot on West Wayne Street.A patrol officer spotted Harmon in the passenger seat of the car. While questioning Harmon, the officer noticed what appeared to be a crack pipe sticking out of the suspect’s sweat shirt pocket, according to court documents.Police searched the defendant and found suspected crack and marijuana, two syringes and a cooking spoon. He later admitted he had heroin hidden in his right knee brace.A search of the brace turned up 17 stamp bags of suspected heroin and three individually packaged pieces of crack.Also in the brace, documents said, were 16 pills of the anti-anxiety drug clonazepam; three tablets of alprazolam, the generic name for the medication Xanax, which is prescribed to treat panic disorder and anxiety; and a small piece from a strip of Suboxone, a narcotic medication used to treat opiate addiction.Police noted that Harmon did not have a prescription for any of the medication.He was arraigned on a felony charge of possession with intent to deliver a controlled substance and misdemeanor charges of possession of a controlled substance and drug paraphernalia and possession of a small amount of marijuana.Harmon was placed in Butler County Prison on $15,000 bail following arraignment.12:20 a.m. Thursday — Police said they had to use a Taser to stop a suspected vandal’s getaway at a downtown bar.An officer initially spotted Zachary D. Cuffman, 26, of Butler Township breaking the gas pump sign outside the Chop Shop restaurant on North Main Street, according to court documents. The suspect ran when he saw the officer get out of his patrol car.Cuffman fled into the nearby Brick House bar, making his way into the pool room. But before he could make his exit out the door, document said, police Tasered him. While police struggled with the suspect, a wood and metal chair, valued at $50, was broken.Cuffman is charged with resisting arrest, criminal mischief and public drunkenness.

Butler Twp Police11 a.m. Sunday — Rosemary Stutz, 55, of Butler was hurt when a car struck the sport utility vehicle she was driving at Route 68 and North Eberhard Road. Stutz suffered minor injuries.The other driver, Michael Lunn, 37, of Evans City, was charged with not stopping at a red light, according to a police report.11:09 a.m. Saturday — A car driven by Gordon Thompson, 52, and a pickup truck by Joyce Buchanan, 53, both of Butler collided on a traffic way at the Butler Commons shopping plaza near the Valley Dairy store.3:17 p.m. Friday — Kathleen Redington, 48, of Zelienople was arrested for driving under the influence of a controlled substance after a minor crash on Route 68. In addition to DUI, she was cited for several traffic violations.7 p.m. Thursday — William Zak, 49, of Kittanning was caught allegedly shoplifting $110 worth of jewelry from the Kohl’s store at the Butler Crossing shopping plaza. Police charged Zak with retail theft.

Butler County Drug Task ForceMonday — Derek J. Bush, 21, of Butler was charged with misdemeanor drug possession in connection with an incident five months ago in Butler. Officers said they found Bush with suspected contraband in a parked car June 20 on the 200 block of West New Castle Street.In the vehicle, according to court documents, was a container of marijuana wax and two marijuana pipes. Bush is charged with possession of a small amount of marijuana and drug paraphernalia.
