Butler Twp. PoliceM1:15 p.m. Tuesday — A car driven by Audrey Nossokoff, 84, of Butler collided with a pickup truck driven by Leon Rocco, 72, of Renfrew as Nossokoff was attempting to turn onto New Castle Road from Butler Commons.Police said Nossokoff did not stop at the stop sign and pulled in front of Rocco’s oncoming vehicle. The collision forced both vehicles into a stopped pickup truck driven by James Wehr, 69, of Butler.Nossokoff and Rocco’s vehicles were towed.5:34 a.m. Tuesday — Russell Miller Jr., 50, of Chicora lost control of his vehicle on Route 422 and struck a jersey barrier. His vehicle was towed.1:54 p.m. Oct. 28 — Katrin Haug, 35, of Chicora was charged with one count of felony retail theft for allegedly stealing $217 worth of merchandise from the Kohl’s store in Butler Commons.
State Police, Butler5 a.m. Friday — Police are investigating an incident where someone threw several bricks at a car parked in the driveway of a home on Rolling Valley Road in Connoquenessing Township.Police said a 29-year-old Butler man is a suspect and that charges are pending.11:50 a.m. Thursday — A Chicora man was not badly injured after his mini van rolled over on Hazelnut Road in Fairview Township.Police said Jamie T. Pyle, 45, was driving southbound when he lost control of his Dodge Caravan. The vehicle left the road and struck an embankment, causing it to go airborne and roll onto its passenger side before striking a tree.Police said Pyle was wearing a seat belt. He suffered minor injuries but was not taken to a hospital.He was cited for a traffic lane violation.Monday — Police reported they are investigating an apparent theft by deception scheme last month in the Sam’s Club parking lot at Moraine Pointe Plaza in Butler Township.An Armstrong County woman Oct. 5 met the suspected thief and gave him $50 that she believed was the entry fee for a child to participate in a showcase baseball game.The game, which was purportedly to allow aspiring high school ball players the chance to showcase their skills in front of college coaches and pro scouts, never took place and the victim was unable to get her money refunded.
