Butler Police4:03 p.m. Sunday — Richard C. Jamison, 31, no known address, was arrested after he was found allegedly impaired by drugs and carrying pills in the 100 block of South Monroe Street.Police said they later identified the pills as being anti-anxiety, anti-seizure and anti-inflammatory drugs.Officers took the suspect to the police station and eventually let him go. But Jamison allegedly acted up after being told to leave, police said. He is accused of punching a door, kicking a bench and yelling obscenities in front of the station.Police said they arrested Jamison again. When they tried to place him in handcuffs, he allegedly resisted. He continued to act “in an aggressive manner,” police said, and an officer had to Taser him.Jamison was arraigned on charges of resisting arrest, possession of a controlled substance, disorderly conduct and public drunkenness. He was placed in the Butler County Prison on $10,000 bail following arraignment.7:43 p.m. Saturday — Emily N. Sopel, 32, of Center Township was arrested after she allegedly shoplifted $24 worth of cosmetics from the Rite Aid store on South Main Street. She left the store but officers found her about 3 a.m. Sunday when she was involved in a traffic accident on East Patterson Avenue.Sopel, who has three prior shoplifting convictions, was arraigned on a felony count of retail theft, and placed in the county prison on $5,000 bail9 p.m. Friday — Keith P. Reges, 28, was arrested after he allegedly assaulted his stepdaughter during a domestic dispute at his home in the 200 block of Second Street. He is accused of grabbing the 20-year-old victim by the neck with both hands.Reges was arraigned on charges of simple assault and harassment, and placed in the county prison on $3,000 bail.Sept. 30 — Police charged Paul R. Lee, 54, of Butler with bouncing two checks at Friedman’s supermarket on West Brady Street. The checks, which both were passed July 25 for a combined $141, were written on a bank account with insufficient funds.Lee is charged with two summary counts of bad checks.
Butler Twp PoliceMonday — Jeffrey M. Barber Jr., 39, of Butler was charged with drugged driving stemming from a traffic stop about 12:40 a.m. Sept. 6 on Route 8 south.In addition to driving under the influence of a controlled substance, Barber is charged with possession of drug paraphernalia and driving with an illegal license plate.Additionally, he is charged with driving with a suspended license, driving an unregistered vehicle, driving without insurance, careless driving and disregarding traffic lanes.6:25 p.m. Saturday — Patricia K. Hetrick, 43, of Butler was caught allegedly shoplifting $208 in merchandise at the Butler Commons’ Walmart. She is charged with a misdemeanor count of retail theft.11:28 p.m. Friday — Michelle R. King, 56, of Butler allegedly shoplifted 36 items, valued at a combined $316, at the Walmart at Butler Commons. She is charged with a misdemeanor count of retail theft.
Grove City Police 5:02 p.m. Sunday — Robert A. Lenhart, 56, of Harrisville was arrested for driving with a suspended license-DUI-related and driving without a court-ordered ignition interlock device following a traffic stop at East Chestnut and North Broad streets.12:46 a.m. Sunday — Richard E. Edmonds, 49, of Grove City was arrested for driving under the influence. He also was cited for driving on the wrong side of the road.Saturday — Someone stole a purse after breaking into a vehicle in the 100 block of Garden Avenue. The purse contained $5 in currency and several credit cards.Saturday — A thief overnight stole $5 to $10 in loose change from two unlocked vehicles in the 200 block of Garden Avenue.
State Police, Butler7:45 p.m. Monday — A Louisiana man wanted by authorities in Oklahoma was arrested after his vehicle broke down on Interstate 79 in Jackson Township. Troopers took Michael P. Folse, 29, of Jeanerette, La., to the Butler County Prison after they discovered he was a wanted man.Folse is being held on a fugitive from justice charge, pending extradition proceedings.4:58 p.m. Monday — Bennett J. Porter, 24, of Butler lost control of his pickup truck that was hauling a trailer and crashed into the median on I-79 just north of Evans Road in Jackson Township. Police cited Porter for disregarding traffic lanes.4:13 p.m. Monday — A pickup driven by Bruce J. Berringer, 44, of Pittsburgh struck a guardrail on I-79 in Worth Township. Berringer was cited for failing to immediately notify police of an accident.2 p.m. Saturday — A vandal fired paint balls at the building housing Davis Archway on Schiebel Road in Clearfield Township. The building sustained damage to its siding.12:12 a.m. Friday — Jason Draper, 40, of Chicora was arrested for suspicion of driving under the influence after his vehicle got struck in grass on the side of Route 356 just north of Lindsay Road in Summit Township.
