6:30 p.m. Sunday — An unknown man driving a newer model, white sport utility vehicle struck the side of a car while backing out of a parking spot at The Bistro by Pizza Joe’s on Dinnerbell Road in Jefferson Township. The SUV driver, described as a middle-aged white man, did not stop after the crash.
The other driver, who police did not identify, was not hurt.
Police said the suspect’s vehicle, which should have damage to the passenger side rear bumper, was last seen traveling eastbound on Dinnerbell Bell.
Sunday — Police reported they suspect two local youths of vandalism in July at a home on Broadway Avenue in East Butler. The youths, who police did not identify, are accused of drawing on the side of a van and garage door with a marker on July 4 or 5. The investigation continues.
11:25 p.m. Saturday — Penny C. McCluskey, 54, of Slippery Rock was arrested for driving under the influence on Branchton Road in Slippery Rock Township.
According to court documents, a blood test later found McCluskey’s blood-alcohol level was 0.128 percent. A level of 0.08 percent is considered intoxicated under state law.
Police also found the suspect was driving a Chevrolet Caprice with a license plate belonging to a Pontiac.
District Judge Sue Haggerty arraigned McCluskey on charges of DUI, driving with a suspended license-DUI related, unauthorized use of a license plate, driving an unregistered vehicle, driving without insurance and without inspection, careless driving and a lighting violation.
She was placed in the Butler County Prison on $3,000 bail following arraignment.
10:52 p.m. Saturday — Melinda Hunter, 54, of Slippery Rock was arrested for suspicion of DUI at Route 173 and Harmony Road in Slippery Rock Township.
6:42 p.m. Saturday — A sport utility vehicle driven by Shirley L. Pierce, 70, of Harrisville struck a deer on Route 8 just north of Swamp Run Road in Center Township.
Saturday — Police are investigating an apparently unusual case of trespass at a home in the 600 block of Branchton Road in Cherry Township.
The home’s resident, a 37-year-old man, told police he found an Apple iPhone in his driveway about 12:30 p.m. He set the cell phone on his kitchen counter but later in the evening he noticed it was missing. He assumed the owner had come into his home and taken it.

11:46 p.m. Friday — Randy R. Long, 55, of Slippery Rock was arrested for suspicion of DUI on Route 108 just west of Cemetery Road in Slippery Rock Township.
Friday — Someone broke into a home on Rattigan Road in Donegal Township. The burglary happened between Dec. 1 and Friday. A police report did not indicate if they have any suspects.
Aug. 7 — An unknown white man stole a Shih Tzu dog and a jar of coins after breaking into a home in the 300 block of Ralston Road in Slippery Rock Township. The burglary and theft happened between 8:30 a.m. and 1:30 p.m.
A police report said the suspect, described as about 6 feet, 1 inch tall and 180 pounds with brown hair, later tried to sell the dog in New Castle. Anyone with information is asked to call police.

12:30 a.m. Sunday — A 30-year-old Freeport man, who police did not identify, was arrested for driving under the influence on Ford City Road in North Buffalo Township.
11:46 p.m. Friday — William M. Jones, 32, of Springfield, Mo., was arrested for suspicion of DUI at the Hilltop Plaza in East Franklin Township.

7 p.m. Saturday — Billijo Farrell, 49, of Grove City was hurt when a car rear-ended her car in Findley Township. The crash happened when she slowed down for a deer on Springfield Church Road just north of Scrubgrass Road.
Farrell, who was wearing a seat belt, was taken to Grove City Medical Center with minor injuries. Police said the other driver, Stephen P. Manuel, 22, of Hilliards, was cited for driving at an unsafe speed.
3:45 a.m. Saturday — A car driven by Robert M. Thompson, 20, of McKeesport, Allegheny County, struck a deer on Interstate 79 in Springfield Township.
6 p.m. Thursday — A .45-caliber magazine loaded with 10 rounds was found at the Knights of Columbus on Route 208 in Pine Township, Mercer County.
