2:29 a.m. Saturday — A felon was arrested after police caught him with a stolen handgun on Mackey Avenue, police said. Officers found the suspect, 42-year-old David H. Jackson of Stoneboro, Mercer County, in a sport utility vehicle after being called for a fight.
A search of the SUV found a Walther P22 pistol under the driver’s seat. Officers checked a police database and learned that the gun, which was loaded with a magazine clip with 10 rounds, was reported stolen out of New Castle.
Police alleged Jackson had pulled the gun, while racking the slide, on another man during the earlier altercation. No one was hurt.
A search of Jackson turned up a suspected oxycodone pill.
District Judge Sue Haggerty arraigned Jackson on charges of felons not to possess a firearm, receiving stolen property, reckless endangerment and possession of a controlled substance. He was placed in the Butler County Prison on $25,000 bail.
[naviga:h3]Cranberry Twp. Police[/naviga:h3]
4:24 p.m. Sunday — Stephen S. McClintock, 26, of Butler was arrested after he was caught allegedly shoplifting a Dyson vacuum cleaner, two fishing rods, two car headlights, tools and other items at the Walmart on Route 19.
McClintock is accused of pushing a shopping cart containing the merchandise, worth $723, out of the store. He was stopped and later arrested.
The defendant, who has three prior shoplifting convictions, is charged with a felony count of retail theft. He told District Judge Sue Haggerty at his arraignment he is unemployed and has two children, ages 5 and four months.
McClintock was placed in the Butler County Prison on $1,500 bail following arraignment.

3:44 p.m. Sunday — Mikel R. Atkinson, 29, was arrested after allegedly assaulting a 46-year-old woman at his home on Roenigk Road in Cherry Township. A domestic dispute between Atkinson and his wife preceded the suspected assault.
According to court documents, when Susan Husselman intervened and tried to calm down the couple, the defendant became enraged and punched the woman in her face and arms.
Husselman was taken to Butler Memorial with a possible concussion.
Atkinson fled but he was arrested a short time later on Boyers Road. District Judge Sue Haggerty arraigned him on charges of simple assault and harassment. He was placed in the Butler County Prison on $3,000 bail.
2:17 a.m. Sunday — Rodolfo G. Hernandez, 30, of Mican, Mo., was arrested for driving under the influence on Route 68 at Honda North in Connoquenessing Township.
Police said they stopped Hernandez after his pickup truck crossed over the fog line several times. They said he reeked of alcohol and they noticed two empty beer cans on the passenger side seat and floor.
A breath test later showed his blood-alcohol level was 0.1125 percent, according to court documents. A level of 0.08 percent is considered intoxicated under state law.
District Judge Sue Haggerty arraigned Hernandez on charges of DUI, driving with an open container of alcohol, driving on the wrong side of the road, disregarding traffic lanes and careless driving.
Following arraignment, he was placed in the Butler County Prison on $10,000 bail.
2 p.m. Saturday — Police issued a missing person advisory for 48-year-old Domenic C. Tedeschi after they say he left his home on Lakeview Drive in Center Township “under stressful circumstances.”
Police searched the area but could not find him. Anyone with information about his whereabouts is asked to call police at 724-284-8100.
[naviga:h3]State Police, Mercer[/naviga:h3]
12:45 p.m. Friday — Ronald H. Bell, 70, of Grove City was hurt when a pickup truck rear-ended the pickup he was driving on Route 58 just west of Ivan Drive in Pine Township, Mercer County.
Bell, who was wearing a seat belt, suffered a minor injury. Stephanie M. Stiffy, 23, of Mercer, the other driver, was cited for following too closely to another vehicle.
