Butler Police3:05 a.m. Monday — Brianna J. Durand, 18, of Jefferson Township was caught with a bag of suspected marijuana and a smoking pipe after a traffic stop in the 400 block of South Main Street.Police charged Durand with possession of a small amount of marijuana and drug paraphernalia, and driving without headlights on.Monday — Larry J. Hoffman Jr., 35, who has no known address, was arrested on charges he stole several items valued at more than $1,000 from a home in the 100 block of Mercer Street. The victim had allowed Hoffman to stay at the house for several days when he allegedly took the property.Hoffman is charged with theft and receiving stolen property. According to a police report, Hoffman was also wanted on two bench warrants, for which he was placed in the Butler County Prison.The warrants were previously issued after Hoffman failed to appear for hearings in unrelated theft cases this year in Butler and Westmoreland counties.Monday — Police filed misdemeanor drug charges against two people stemming from a traffic stop about 12:20 a.m. June 3 on Zeigler Avenue. Officers stopped the car as part of a county drug investigation, according to court documents.The driver, Katelin N. Conner, 18, of Lyndora, had four plastic containers with suspected marijuana residue in them, police said. The containers were in Conner’s purse. Her passenger, Qureem Overton, 32, of Philadelphia, allegedly had a marijuana grinder.Conner and Overton are both charged with possession of drug paraphernalia. Police also cited Conner for driving with a suspended license and Overton for permitting violation of title by allowing Conner to drive his vehicle knowing she had a suspended license.Sunday — Jedediah Lee Owens-Vickers, 23, no known address, was arrested on charges he attacked a former girlfriend during a suspected assault last week at her home on South Ninth Avenue.Owens-Vickers is accused of grabbing Jennifer Blystone by the throat June 16 and trying to throw her over a bannister outside the home. He also allegedly threatened to kill Blystone, who suffered minor injuries.The defendant fled but was eventually arrested and arraigned on charges of simple assault and terroristic threats. He is being held in the Butler County Prison on $50,000 bail.11:55 p.m. Friday — Stephanie A. Brown, 28, of Butler was arrested after allegedly accosting another woman at a home in the 400 block of West Wayne Street.Brown is accused of grabbing Alisha Weisenstein of Butler by the neck and punching her. Police believe the suspect was upset that Weisenstein two days earlier had accused Michael Lee Hutchinson, 19, of Butler, of domestic violence, according to court documents.Police in that domestic case arrested Hutchinson after he allegedly punched Weisenstein, a former girlfriend, during an altercation at South Chestnut and West Wayne streets. She suffered minor injuries and was treated at Butler Memorial Hospital.Hutchinson was arraigned on a charge of simple assault and placed in the Butler County Prison on $3,000 bail.Brown, meanwhile, was arraigned on charges of retaliation against a victim and harassment. She was placed in the county prison on $5,000 following arraignment.

Butler Twp PoliceTuesday — Police charged Andi R. McNanny, 20, of Butler with drunken driving stemming from a June 6 rollover crash on Litman Road.In addition to driving under the influence, McNanny is charged with DUI by a minor, underage drinking and several traffic violations including driving at an unsafe speed and careless driving.6:33 p.m. Monday — An unknown daytime burglar stole a television and a laptop computer from a Forest Heights apartment on Route 8 south. Anyone with information is asked to call police at 724-285-9600.2:13 p.m. Friday — A 17-year-old student at the Butler County Vocational Technical School was charged with possession of a controlled substance and drug paraphernalia after police were called to the school. Police did not identify the teen.

State Police, Butler10:05 a.m. Tuesday — Bradley S. Burroway, 29, of Bruin allegedly violated a 26-year-old woman’s protection from abuse order when he contacted her at a School Street home in Bruin.Tuesday — Anthony M. Puglisi, 24, of Butler was arraigned on charges he tried to illegally buy a firearm at a gun show Jan. 11 at the Days Inn on Route 8 south.Puglisi, in completing a federal form required to buy the gun, denied that he was the subject of any current protective order, according to court documents.But when his information was entered into the Pennsylvania Instant Check system, an automated system by which gun dealers can determine if someone can legally buy a gun in the state, he was denied the purchase because of the PFA.Under state law, someone with a PFA against him is prohibited from possessing, transferring or acquiring any weapons during the time the court order is in effect.Puglisi is charged with unlawfully attempting to buy a firearm, a felony, and unsworn falsification to authorities, a misdemeanor.Tuesday — Police charged Alexis X. Krause, 22, of Butler with drunken driving in connection with a one-vehicle wreck last week in Butler Township. Krause lost control of her car about 8:50 p.m. June 16 and struck a guardrail on Delwood Road.The suspect, who admitted having two drinks, was taken to the barracks for a breath test. The results showed her blood-alcohol level was 0.177 percent, according to court documents, more than double the state’s 0.08 percent legal limit.Krause is charged with driving under the influence, disregarding traffic lanes and careless driving.Tuesday — Nathan D. Calcagni, 27, of Lyndora was charged with drugged driving stemming from a traffic stop about 12:50 a.m. May 1 on New Castle Road in Butler Township.Police said after pulling over Calcagni, a trooper noticed a syringe in his car’s driver side sun visor. He later failed field sobriety tests and was taken to Butler Memorial Hospital for a blood test.While being driven to the hospital, court documents said, he admitted using heroin earlier at his home. Toxicology results confirmed heroin metabolites in his system.He is charged with driving under the influence of a controlled substance, possession of drug paraphernalia, careless driving, reckless driving and not wearing a seat belt.Tuesday — Police filed drunken driving charges against Amy Jo Ramelli, 50, of Connoquenessing stemming from a traffic stop last month in Butler Township.Troopers pulled over Ramelli just before 10 p.m. May 19 after her sport utility vehicle crossed the double yellow and fog lines on Route 68 several times. She was stopped at the Whitestown Road intersection.She smelled of alcohol but told police that she only had one drink about five minutes earlier at home. She eventually was taken for a breath test, which showed her blood-alcohol level was 0.172 percent, more than two times the state’s legal limit.Ramelli is charged with DUI and disregarding traffic lanes.7:51 p.m. Monday — Jason L. Gavinski, 37, of Chicora was arrested for suspicion of DUI on Route 38 at Valley Road in Concord Township.8 p.m. Thursday — Anthony G. Allison, 39, of Prospect allegedly took prescription medication and money from a home on Davcol Lane in Slippery Rock Township while he was a guest there. Allison is charged with theft and receiving stolen property.

State Police, Franklin9:28 p.m. Monday — A New York trucker lost control of his rig and rolled over into a ditch on Interstate 80 in Clinton Township, Venango County.Police said Mamuka Mushkudiani, 48, of East Meadow was cited for careless driving, disregarding traffic lanes and causing an accident involving an overturned vehicle.The Clintonville Volunteer Fire Department assisted at the scene.

State Police, Kittanning2 a.m. Tuesday — A suspected drunken driver was arrested after leading police on a high-speed chase that ended when he crashed his motorcycle in East Franklin Township. The suspect, Glenn R. Myers Jr., 54, of Kittanning, later resisted troopers who tried to arrest him.Police said they initially tried to stop Myers after he ran a stop sign. He failed to pull over and troopers pursued him at speeds of up to 95 mph on Route 268. The chase continued for several miles before the suspect laid down his bike in the area of the 200 block of Lemon Hollow Road.Myers faces charges of driving under the influence, fleeing or attempting to elude police, resisting arrest, criminal mischief and numerous traffic violations.12:40 p.m. Monday — Craig R. Campbell, 22, of East Brady was arrested for suspicion of DUI on Route 28 in Ohara Township, Allegheny County. His passenger, Lucky Lynn Giron, 24, of Kittanning was found with heroin and syringes.

State Police, MercerSunday — More than 150 feet of copper cable was stolen from a large garage in a burglary at the Powell Grain Farm on Eich Road in Perry Township, Mercer County. Police have no suspects in the break-in and theft that happened between 6 p.m. Saturday and 4:30 p.m. Sunday.
