Police reports

The following items have been collected from various police departments and district courts:

Butler

March 25 — Kaleb S. Rock, 30, of Butler, was charged with misdemeanor DUI after crashing his vehicle March 22 on Center Avenue. Police said field sobriety tests showed he was impaired, and a later blood test showed his blood alcohol content at 0.222%. In Pennsylvania, the legal limit is 0.08%.

March 26 — Joseph B. Yartz, 41, of Lyndora, was charged with misdemeanors false identification to an officer and use and possession of drug paraphernalia. Police said he gave a false name and was found with stamp bags of suspected heroin, a syringe and spoon.

March 25 — Shawna M. Smeal, 46, of Butler, was charged with felony forgery and misdemeanors theft and access device fraud. Police said she forged two checks that were not hers and attempted to cash them.

March 25 — Larry D. Collingwood, 54, of Lyndora, was charged with two counts of misdemeanor use and possession of drug paraphernalia. Police said he was found with eight stamp bags of suspected heroin and a crack pipe.

PA Bureau of Dog Law Enforcement

March 26 — Jennifer J. Koch, 38, of Mars, was charged with misdemeanors for failing to register a dog. Police said she failed to register a dangerous dog.

State police, Butler

March 28 — Nina E. Grossi, 25, of Butler, was charged with two counts of misdemeanor DUI after police stopped her March 21 on Franklin Street, Butler. Police said field sobriety tests showed she was impaired, and a later breath test showed her blood alcohol content at 0.195%. In Pennsylvania, the legal limit is 0.08%.

March 27 — Shane M. Bates, 32, of Butler, was charged with misdemeanors DUI and use and possession of drug paraphernalia after police stopped him Sept. 7, 2022. Police said he showed signs of impairment, and a later blood test showed traces of fentanyl and Xanax in his system. Police said suspected heroin was also found in his vehicle.

March 26 — Lisa K. Bishop, 56, of Chicora, was charged with misdemeanors DUI, accidents involving property damage, and use and possession of drug paraphernalia after she fled the scene of a crash March 23 on Route 68, Forward Township. Police said field sobriety tests showed she was impaired and a smoking pipe with suspected marijuana was found in her possession.

March 25 — Gary M. White, 58, of Zelienople, was charged with felony strangulation, misdemeanor simple assault and summary harassment. Police said he grabbed someone around the neck and punched them.

March 25 — Courtney N. Cowher, 38, of Evans City, was charged with misdemeanor simple assault and summary harassment. Police said she grabbed at someone’s face.

March 25 — Erik D. Crooks, 55, of Hilliards, was charged with misdemeanors DUI and use and possession of drug paraphernalia after police stopped him Jan. 22 on Oneida Valley Road, Concord Township. Police said he showed signs of impairment and a syringe needle and suspected heroin/fentanyl was found in his vehicle.

March 24 — Timothy S. Saunders Jr., 38, of Butler, was charged with felonies theft and possession of a prohibited firearm. Police said he removed a firearm that was not his from a residence.
