Butler Police
June 11 — Police charged Eric C. Rayner, 22, of Ellwood City with forging 11 checks, totaling $2,832, belonging to the Oxford House transitional housing property on North Bluff Street on North Bluff Street. Rayner is charged with 11 counts of forgery, a felony.
Butler Twp Police
Wednesday — Leah C. McGee, 25, of Cabot was charged in connection with three separate shoplifting-related incidents at the Butler Commons’ Walmart in June. Police said McGee gave officers a bogus name, using stolen identification during the investigation.
She is charged with three counts of retail theft and one count each of identity theft, receiving stolen property and theft by deception, all misdemeanors.
Wednesday — Police cited Joshua J. Space, 22, of Butler for trespass after he was seen at the Walmart at Butler Commons on May 1. The store previously had barred Space from the store.
State Police, Butler
10:43 p.m. Tuesday — Three unknown suspects vandalized a 20-year-old Butler man’s vehicle during an altercation with the alleged victim on Spring Run Road in Center Township. The suspects confronted the man and broke the taillights of his vehicle before fleeing.
Tuesday — Police charged two Lawrence County men with doing “wheelies” while riding motorcycles about 10:25 a.m. June 6 on Interstate 79 in Lancaster Township.
Joseph W. Argiro, 23, and Torry J. Argiro, 27, both of New Castle are accused of doing stunts in traffic. Motorists initially reported three cyclists popping wheelies and obstructing traffic flow on the highway.
Police got there and chased after the two suspects, who got away. The third cyclist, who police did not identify, stopped and helped troopers identify Joseph Argiro and Torry Argiro. Authorities also obtained the license plate numbers of the two suspects.
Both suspects are charged with fleeing or attempting to elude police, a misdemeanor. Police also cited them with driving an unregistered vehicle, driving without a motorcycle license, disobeying traffic control devices, reckless driving and not using turn signals.
Additionally, police cited Joseph Argiro for permitting violation of title and Torry Argiro for driving with a suspended license and following too closely to another vehicle.
