Butler Police
10:44 a.m. Tuesday — Selena Y. Klapheke, 19, of Gibsonia was arrested on several bench warrants after a patrol officer spotted her at West North and North Church streets. She gave police a bogus name when they initially confronted her, according to court documents.
She also was found with suspected drug contraband and an unopened can of beer in her purse.
Klapheke was arrested after her identity was determined and police confirmed she was wanted on five warrants. Butler County Court issued those warrants in February and March after she failed to appear at court hearings stemming from one felony drug case and four misdemeanor drug cases.
Police also charged her with false identification to law enforcement authorities, possession of drug paraphernalia, and underage possession of alcohol.
Additionally, police charged Tanya L. Tyson, 24, of Jefferson Township, who was with Klapheke when they stopped her. A search of Tyson’s purse turned up two empty stamp bags of suspected heroin, a syringe, crack pipe and other contraband.
Butler Twp Police
7:28 a.m. Tuesday — A car driven by a 17-year-old teen crashed into a vehicle stopped in traffic in front of him on New Castle Road. The wreck also involved a third vehicle.
The boy, who police did not identify, told police that he was looking down at his radio and did not see the other vehicles until it was too late. Police cited him for following too closely to another vehicle.
Grove City Police
Wednesday — Police cited David L. Dickson, 61, Grove City for allowing his dogs to run loose in his neighborhood in the 300 block of Edgewood Avenue. Dickson is charged with failing to keep his dogs confined and not having licenses for the dogs.
Tuesday — An unidentified vehicle struck a sport utility vehicle parked in an alley in the 200 block of Erie Street. The unknown driver did not stop after crash that happened between 9:30 a.m. and 6 p.m.

Middlesex Twp Police
Wednesday — Police filed drunken driving charges against Cory J. Jones, 26, of Butler, accusing him of being more than three times over the state’s legal limit for alcohol when they pulled him over May 26 on Denny Road. He was stopped for going 41 mph in a 25 mph zone.
Jones was arrested after failing field sobriety tests, and he was taken to UPMC Passavant Cranberry for a blood test. Results showed his blood-alcohol was 0.298 percent. A level of 0.08 percent is considered intoxicated in Pennsylvania.
In addition to driving under the influence, police charged Jones with speeding.
8:24 p.m. Sunday — Christopher K. Passione, 28, of Wexford was arrested for driving under the influence after he was stopped going 66 mph in a 45 mph zone on Route 8 near Twin Willow Lane.
Police said a subsequent blood test showed Passione‘s blood-alcohol level was 0.120 percent. He is charged with DUI and speeding.
11:08 p.m. Friday — Cody A. Byers, 23, of Sarver was arrested for drunken driving on Overbrook Road near Truver Road. Byers is charged with DUI and careless driving.
11:34 p.m. May 22 — Chanelle M. Hayden, 26, of Pitcairn, Allegheny County, was caught with a small amount of suspected marijuana and drug contraband in a traffic stop on Route 8 near Route 228 west.
Hayden is charged with possession of a controlled substance and drug paraphernalia.
May 21 — Douglas S. Good, 53, of Butler was charged with drunken driving stemming from a traffic stop about 10:30 p.m. April 27 on Route 8 at Browns Hill Road. Police said he was stopped after an officer spotted his vehicle “all over road.”
While a blood test showed Good’s blood-alcohol was only 0.05 percent, below the state’s legal limit, it was still enough to leave him incapable of safe driving, police said. He is charged with DUI, failing to keep right and not stopping at a red light.
State Police, Butler
Tuesday — Dennis R. Ross Jr., 22, of Butler was charged with drugged driving stemming from a May 10 traffic stop in Butler. Troopers followed Ross into the city and pulled him over about 3:45 a.m. in the 300 block of North Main Street.
Ross appeared impaired, and he was found with a crack pipe. Following field sobriety tests, he was arrested and taken to Butler Memorial Hospital for a blood test.
Toxicology results later showed he had marijuana and benzoylecgonine in his system. Benzoylecgonine is an active ingredient in cocaine. Additionally, his blood-alcohol level was 0.067 percent, just below the state’s 0.08 percent legal limit for drivers.
In addition to multiple counts of driving under the influence of a controlled substance, Ross is charged with driving under the influence of a combination of drugs and alcohol, possession of drug paraphernalia, careless driving, disregarding traffic lanes, failing to keep right, failing to use turn signals, failing to notify authorities of a change of address and not wearing a seat belt.
State Police, Mercer
Friday — Someone stole the Pennsylvania license plate MP3436D from a dump truck parked in the 1500 block of West Main Street Extension in Pine Township, Mercer County. The plate was taken between September and Friday. A police report did not indicate if there are any suspects.
State Police, New Castle
4:40 p.m. May 27 — One person was hurt in a two-vehicle wreck in Slippery Rock Township, Lawrence County The crash happened when a car driven by Kathleen S. Pitluga, 55, of New Castle rear ended another car on Route 422 just west of Young Road.
Pitluga, who was wearing a seat belt, was taken to Jameson Hospital in New Castle with minor injuries. Police cited her for following too closely to another vehicle. Richard S. Tyree, 43, of New Castle was the other driver.
