12:15 a.m. Tuesday — Nicholas Thor Heath, 34, no known address, was arrested after he allegedly broke into his parents' house on the 500 block of Bredin Street.Heath's parents told police that they found their son in the living room after returning home from a four-day trip, according to court documents. He was wearing only one shoe and had stolen several items. He also appeared intoxicated.The suspect fled the house, losing his other shoe in his getaway, before officers got there, documents said. He allegedly took five bottles of prescription medication and a small amount of currency.His parents noted that their son had not lived at the home for four years and he did not have their permission to be there.Police about 20 minutes later found Heath on Broad Street. A search turned up a prescription bottle with his mother's name on it. They also found numerous pills in his pockets and other suspected stolen property.Heath was arraigned on felony charges of burglary and trespass and misdemeanor charges of theft and receiving stolen property. He was placed in Butler County Prison on $5,000 bail following arraignment.Tuesday — Douglas C. Fudoli, 46, of Butler Township was caught allegedly passed out on drugs on a bench on the 100 block of North Main Street. After some time, officers managed to awaken Fudoli.He was searched, according to court documents, and found with three used syringes, a prescription bottle with pills, and three stamp bags of suspected heroin.Fudoli is charged with possession of a controlled substance and drug paraphernalia, and public drunkenness.1:10 a.m. Sunday — A Butler man and a Pittsburgh woman were found under the influence of drugs in a sport utility vehicle parked at Ritts Park on North McKean Street.One suspect, Gregory P. Mazzanti, 32, also was found with one stamp bag and several empty bags of suspected heroin, court documents said. Officers also turned up a syringe in the vehicle that belonged to him.Police said they also learned the other suspect, Heather L. Woods-Anzaldi, 37, was wanted on three out-of-county warrants.Both suspects are charged with public drunkenness. Mazzanti also is charged with possession of a controlled substance.9:28 a.m. Saturday — Abbi R. Cochran, 24, of Hilliards was arrested after she allegedly shoplifted 18 greeting cards from Friedman's supermarket on West Brady Street. The merchandise is valued at $66.82.A search later found her with two syringes and two spoons with suspected drug residue, according to court documents.Cochran, who has four prior shoplifting arrests, is charged with a felony count of retail theft and misdemeanor possession of drug paraphernalia. She was arraigned on the charges and placed in Butler County Prison on $5,000 bail.
8:54 p.m. Wednesday — Glenda M. Nimal, 41, of Dayton, Armstrong County, was caught allegedly shoplifting several pen and pencil sets from the Target store at Butler Commons. The merchandise is valued at $45.33 Nimal, who has one prior shoplifting arrest, is charged with misdemeanor retail theft.4:55 p.m. Wednesday — Kyle J. Kowalkowski, 24, of Butler swerved his vehicle to avoid traffic stopped in front of him and struck a utility pole at Meridian Road and Delason Avenue.A Butler Ambulance Service crew examined Kowalkowski, who refused further treatment. Police cited him for driving at an unsafe speed.4:44 p.m. Tuesday — A West Virginia couple was nabbed after shoplifting $81 worth of merchandise, including a scented wax warmer, cell phone case and flashlight, from the Walmart at Butler Commons.The suspects, Joshua E. Toothman, 29, and Kristica R. Skelley, 34, both of New Martinsville, are both charged with retail theft.2:17 p.m. Monday — Mark E. Ramsey, 49, of Butler was cited for a burning ordinance at a home on Freeport Road.
4:50 a.m. Thursday — Ryan Lee Brain, 26, of Kennerdell was arrested after police caught him allegedly entering one apartment and attempting to enter another one in the 100 block of Spruce Street.Brian was arraigned on charges of burglary, attempted burglary, trespass, seven counts of theft and two counts of criminal mischief. He was placed in Mercer County Jail on $100,000 bail following arraignment.May 5 — A bag of clothing was found on Oakland Avenue and turned over to police. The owner can claim the property at the police station.
Wednesday — An unknown thief stole an electric power distribution system device from a Sprint cell phone tower on Jenelle Drive in Summit Township. The stolen device, a busbar, is made of copper measuring 18 inches by 3 inches. It is one-quarter inch thick and has a number of holes in the metal The property was taken between 12:01 and 6 a.m.Tuesday — Guns and jewelry were among the property stolen in a burglary at a 63-year-old woman's home on Route 308 in Marion Township. The break-in happened between 1 and 2 p.m. Police have no suspects.Tuesday — An unknown thief stole an air conditioning unit that was attached to the outside of a building at QualaWash on Tanker Lane in Parker Township. The theft happened between 11:30 p.m. May 8 and 10 a.m. Tuesday.May 1 — Someone damaged the mailbox at a home on Stamm Road in Slippery Rock Township. The vandalism happened between 1 and 6 a.m.
9:10 p.m. Sunday — A car driven by James P. Hager Jr., 22, of Emlenton struck a utility pole at Kerr Avenue and Center Street in Emlenton. Police said Hager was cited for careless driving.
6:45 a.m. Tuesday — A car driven by Kortney M. Barcheck, 31, of Sandy Lake rear-ended another car on Route 173 just south of Sanderson Road in Sandy Lake Township. Police cited Barcheck for driving too closely to another vehicle. Blair P. McCurdy Jr., 58, of Cochranton was the other driver.
