The National Association of Letter Carriers and the U.S. Postal Service in Butler will hold its 23rd annual food drive Saturday.

Letter carriers will be collecting donations of nonperishable food items out of mailboxes in the Butler area as they deliver the day's mail.

Donations also may be left beside any parked postal delivery vehicle during the day or at the back door of the post office at 345 S. Main St. until 4 p.m.

The drive is being done in partnership with the United Way of Butler County and the Butler County Community Action.

All the donations will go to the Butler Food Bank.

BUTLER — The Butler County Community College Children’s Creative Learning Center has received a Bright Star Award for the third quarter of the fiscal year.The award, which was presented at the center Friday, is a recognition program for Keystone STARS sites in the 22 counties of the Northwest Regional Key. Early learning and school-age programs that demonstrate quality are nominated for the award.The center also recently celebrated its fifth anniversary of being a STAR 4 facility, the highest rating in the Keystone STARS program.
