Lemieux center event a finalist for tourism bureau award

The Butler County Tourism and Convention Bureau nominated Premier Ice Prospects Labor Day Girls Fest for Event or Program Impact of the Year at the SportsETA Symposium last week in Portland, OR.

The event, which was hosted by the UPMC Lemieux Sports Complex in Cranberry Township, was recognized as an awards finalist.

A news release from the tourism bureau ranks Pennsylvania number 4 among the top 10 states whose economies were most impacted by sports tourism in 2023.

The release said an estimated $480 million in economic impact was generated in 2023 in Pennsylvania through sports tourism.
