The Adams Area Fire District will hold two fund raisers this month to support their move to the property formerly occupied by the Mars Bank drive-through on Route 228.

The fire district has outgrown its current building in Mars, and needs a new, upgraded facility to provide fire services to the growing township.

On April 18-19, the public is invited to the new property on Route 228 for a barbecue. Safreed said the pulled pork served on that Saturday and barbecued chicken served on that Sunday is being donated and prepared by The Branding Iron BBQ & Grille on Rowan Road in Cranberry Township.

The barbecues will be held from noon until the food is gone.

On April 25 the fire district will hold a bus trip to Rivers Casino in Pittsburgh. The bus will pick passengers up at 5:15 p.m. at the Seven Fields community building parking lot.

Safreed said the free slot play and food vouchers given to each participant will cover the cost of the event.

More information on the casino trip is available at www.aafd.webs.com, where residents and businesses can also donate to the fire district.
