Dukes, Timko debate set for Thursday at BC3

Candidates vying for the 12th state House district

The Butler Eagle, along with the Butler County Chamber of Commerce and Armstrong, will host a candidate forum and debate between Democratic Rep. Brandon Dukes and Republican challenger Scott Timko on Thursday, Oct. 15.

The debate will be held at 6 p.m. at the Succop Theater on Butler County Community College’s campus in Butler Township. It is free and open to the public.

The event will be televised by Armstrong and, will also be livestreamed by the Eagle.

Dukes and Timko are facing off in a rematch for Pennsylvania’s 12th State House District, which includes Adams, Cranberry and Jackson townships; and the boroughs of Callery, Evans City, Harmony, Mars, Valencia and Zelienople.

Dukes beat Timko by less than 100 votes in the August special election to fill the vacant seat. The two candidates are now running for a full term.
