George W. Staley
George W. Staley, 90, of Richland Township, Gibsonia, passed away peacefully Monday morning at Good Samaritan Hospice in Wexford with his family at his side.
He was born on Sept. 7, 1924, in Gibsonia, the son of the late Harvey Delroy and Nora Perry Staley.
George was a banker for 39 years with Mellon Bank in Pittsburgh, where he also served as a volunteer for the Mellon Bank Blood Drive.
He was a member of the Dutilh United Methodist Church in Cranberry Township. He enjoyed bowling, playing cards and games and maintaining his yard, but above all he loved spending time with his family, especially the grandkids. He and his wife enjoyed traveling extensively.
He served as a PFC in the U.S. Army during World War II, where he received the Purple Heart for his injuries.
Surviving are his wife, Jean Dize Staley, whom he married on July 7, 1945; his three daughters, Barbara Kruse and her husband, Robert, of Wattsburg, Karen Wharrey and her husband, James, of Ellwood City, and Marlene Rindfuss and her husband, Gary, of Valencia; his nine grandchildren; his 17 great grandchildren; his two sisters, Nora Mae Schwab of Falconer, N.Y., and Margie Rinaman of Mars, and his many nieces and nephews.
In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his brothers, Paul and James Staley, and his sisters, Edna Boyle, Ruth Fugh and Mary Staley.

Staley, who passed away Monday, Feb. 23, 2015, will be received from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 p.m. Wednesday at the McDonald-Aeberli Funeral Home, 238 Crowe Ave., Mars.Services will be at 11 a.m. Thursday at the Dutilh United Methodist Church, 1270 Dutilh Road, Cranberry Township.
