Butler Police

3:13 p.m. Tuesday — Joshua S. Sunday, 32, of Butler was charged after police were sent to an apartment in the 400 block of West North Street for a reported drug overdose.

But when officers and a medical crew got there, the suspect was gone. Police said they found Sunday between a garage and a house in the 300 block of West Locust Street. He struggled with officers before they handcuffed him.

Sunday admitted he was under the influence of the anti-anxiety drug Klonopin, according to a police report. He was taken to the station to sober up. Police said Sunday was cited for public drunkenness.

8:25 a.m. Tuesday — Bradley S. Cramer, 26, of Butler was arrested after allegedly assaulting his girlfriend, 18-year-old Haley R. Dunbar, during a domestic dispute at her Greenview Drive apartment.

Dunbar told police that Cramer grabbed her around the neck and threw her into the bathroom wall. Officers noted in a police report that she had redness on both sides of her neck.

Cramer was arraigned on a charge of simple assault and placed in the Butler County Prison on $5,000 bail.

9:18 p.m. Saturday — Randy S. Hoesch, 27, of Butler was caught allegedly shoplifting merchandise from the Family Dollar store at Pullman Square. Police said they later found a suspected marijuana pipe in his pants pockets.

Hoesch is charged with possession of drug paraphernalia and retail theft.

State Police, Butler

Monday — An unknown thief stole the stop sign at Hooker and Troutman roads in Concord Township. The sign, owned by the township, was stolen between 8 a.m. Friday and 3 p.m. Monday.

11:30 p.m. Sunday — Clayton P. Casper, 23, of Butler lost control of his sport utility vehicle and struck a tree along Hall Road in Clay Township.

Police cited Casper for driving too fast for conditions, driving without valid inspection, failing to immediately notify police of an accident and not wearing a seat belt.

Sunday — A mailbox at a home on Caldwell Road in Jefferson Township was vandalized between 7 a.m. and 7 p.m.

Saturday — An unknown burglar broke into a 64-year-old woman’s home in the 500 block of Sunset Drive in Center Township. A police report did not indicate if anything was taken in the break-in that happened between noon Friday and noon Saturday.

Saturday — A Karns City couple reported that someone sent in a federal income tax return using their personal information. Police said the IRS is investigating the case of identity theft.

State Police, Clarion

1:07 p.m. Tuesday — A sport utility vehicle struck a deer on Interstate 80 in Allegheny Township, Butler County. Police did not identify the driver.

State Police, Kittanning

Thursday — Police charged a Westmoreland County man with illegally trying to buy a gun Nov. 1 in East Franklin Township.

William R. Crilley, 41, of Lower Burrell, who is prohibited under state law from possessing a firearm stemming from a second drunken driving conviction, attempted to purchase a Remington .30-06 rifle at the Walmart at Hilltop Plaza.

According to a police report, Crilley lied about his criminal record when he completed required paperwork under the Pennsylvania Instant Check system, an automated system by which gun dealers can determine if someone can legally buy a gun in the state.

Crilley is charged with making a false statement to unlawfully buy a firearm and unsworn falsification to authorities.

State Police, New Castle

3:50 a.m. Monday — Kamron J. Rudy, 19, of Ellwood City was allegedly under the influence of alcohol when he lost control of his pickup truck, struck a guardrail and rolled into a home’s yard on Route 488 just west of Armstrong Road in Perry Township, Lawrence County.

In addition to DUI, police said, Rudy faces tickets for underage drinking and driving too fast for conditions.
