9:06 p.m. Saturday — An unknown suspect broke into St. Paul's Church on North McKean Street and caused an unspecified amount of damage. It was not immediately known if anything was taken.The burglar got inside through a door facing East New Castle Street. Once in the church, the suspect forced open a locked room and damaged at least two doors. The break-in was reported to police about 2 p.m. Sunday.Surveillance video outside the church took images of the apparent suspect. Police posted several photographs from the video on the department's Facebook page. Anyone with information about the person's identity is asked to call police at 724-287-7743.

Thursday — Police report they have charged two Evans City women with the Jan. 18 shoplifting theft of $898 worth of clothing and jewelry from the Kohl's store at Butler Crossing. The suspects, Paula Schwartz and Jennifer Clawson, both 29, each face a charge of retail theft.State Police, Butler10 a.m. Sunday — Snow-covered road conditions were blamed for a one-car rollover wreck in Winfield Township. Cortlandt H. Byron, 57, of Ford City lost control of his car and traveled about 15-feet down a hillside before rolling onto its roof.12:45 a.m. Saturday — Jack Bollinger III, 46, of Butler was arrested for suspicion of driving under the influence of a controlled substance at Dinnerbell and Route 8 in Penn Township.5:13 p.m. Friday — Laraine A. McCrea, 63, of Sarver lost control of her vehicle and struck a speed limit sign and a utility pole along Route 228 in Clinton Township. The Saxonburg Volunteer Fire Department assisted at the scene. Police cited McCrea for driving too fast for conditions.3 p.m. Thursday — A sport utility vehicle driven by Matthew C. Rodriguez, 24, of Lucinda, Clarion County, struck a tree along Route 228 just west of Sandy Hill Road in Clinton Township.1 a.m. Tuesday — Richard A. Safranek III, 25, of Prospect allegedly violated a woman's protection from abuse order when he called her at a home in Prospect.Jan. 21 — An unknown burglar stole a Hewlett Packard 7 Plus computer tablet from the bedroom of a home at Coral Ridge Estates in Prospect. The property, valued at $137, was taken between 6 and 8 p.m.Jan. 10 — A youth, who police did not identify, used a 49-year-old Forward Township woman's credit card without her permission to withdraw money from an automated teller machine. Police said the suspect used the money to buy drugs.

Sunday — Police reported they are investigating a case of suspected indecent assault last month in Toby Township. A 16-year-old girl told police that an 18-year-old man inappropriately touched her Jan. 15 at a home.

Saturday — An unknown burglar broke into a Cherrytree Township house, owned by a 52-year-old Zelienople man, and stole three new Honeywell electric heaters. The suspect also forced open a detached garage and swiped 15 fishing rods.The break-in on Miles Road happened between Jan. 10 and Saturday. The stolen property is valued at $600. Damages to the home and garage were estimated at $2,900.

4:20 p.m. Friday — A driver, who police did not identify, lost control of a pickup truck and hit a utility pole along Route 4007 in West Franklin Township.3:15 p.m. Friday — A young woman and teenager were shaken up after their car collided with a Mack truck in South Buffalo Township.Lindsey S. Corle, 20, of Natrona Heights, Allegheny County, lost control of the car on Duffy Road and slid through the stop sign at the intersection of Ford City Road. The car hit the front side of the truck driven by Joel D. Brooks, 68, of Rossiter, Indiana County.Corle and her passenger, a 16-year-old Natrona Heights girl, who police did not identity, were examined by paramedics but neither reported being injured. Police said Corle was cited for driving too fast for conditions.8:20 p.m. Tuesday — Two unknown shoplifters allegedly stole a woman's running jacket from the Olympia Sports store in East Franklin Township. The suspects are believed to have made their getaway in a red Mercury Cougar.Both suspects are white. One is 20 to 25 years old, about 6 feet tall with a heavy build. He had a beard and wore a blue Carhartt jacket. The other is between 18 and 30, about 5 feet, 10 inches tall with a slender build.Anyone with information is asked to call police at 724-543-2011.3:11 p.m. Tuesday — A 17-year-old old girl lost control of her car on slush and struck a fire hydrant along Freeport Road just west of Old Route 28 in South Buffalo Township. Police did not identify the girl, who was cited for driving too fast for conditions.

Friday — A car and municipal snow plow collided at Kimberly Drive and Lynn Way in Liberty Township, Mercer County. A police report did not identify the drivers.The crash happened, the report said, when the driver of the plow, owned by Pine Township, failed to stop at the intersection. The driver of the car, who had the right of way, struck the side of the plow.10:23 p.m. Wednesday — A car slid on ice and crashed on Jervis Road at Route 258 in Liberty Township, Mercer County. Police did not identify the driver.

10:53 a.m. Saturday — Frederick C. Masters, 38, of Freeport was hurt when a car he was driving and a pickup truck collided on Route 168 in Wilmington Township. Masters, who was wearing a seat belt, was taken to Jameson Hospital in New Castle with minor injuries Travis R. Pratt, 27, of Volant was the other driver.10:10 p.m. Thursday — An unknown hit-and-run driver in a pickup truck struck and broke a utility pole along Potter Run Road just west of Route 19 in Washington Township Lawrence County. The pickup is believed to be a 1990s to early-2000 Chevrolet model.ww
