12:01 a.m. today — Harry Stutz, 55, of Butler apparently had too much to drink when he fell and gashed his head in an alley near West Birch Street. Police said when Stutz was found he was bleeding from a large cut on his head and taken to Butler Memorial Hospital. He faces a ticket for public drunkenness.9:01 a.m. Saturday — Police believe Amy M. Brander, 23, of Butler wasn't paying attention when she drove her car into a house in the 400 block of East Brady Street.Brander, who was not hurt, told police she was eastbound on Brady Street, traveling about 40 mph, when she tried to turn left onto Monroe Street. She said she was unable to make the turn and wrecked, according to a police report.Police, however, noted they found no evidence at the scene to corroborate Brander's claims. Instead, the report said, it appeared she “just drove straight into the house due to her not paying attention to the road for some unknown reason.”Bob Schnur of Slippery Rock Township owns the house.
3 a.m. Saturday — Terence W. Wymer, 29, of Butler swerved his sport utility vehicle to miss a deer and struck a guardrail on Route 422 in Franklin Township.Thursday — Two Butler women — a daughter and mother — were charged with lying to police about a traffic crash earlier this month.According to a police report, Nicole H. Harvey, 34, of Butler was driving her mother's car about 4 p.m. Oct. 5 when she crashed on private property on Rimp Road in Summit Township. She drove the car back to her mother's house and the two women hatched a plan.The plan, the report said, was to park the vehicle in front of the home of Harvey's mother, 55-year-old Kimberly A. Porter, and call police to report an unknown hit-and-run driver had damaged the car. Police uncovered the alleged ruse during their investigation.Harvey is charged with tampering with or fabricating evidence, false reports to law enforcement authorities and driving with a suspended license-DUI related. Porter is charged with making a false report to police.
5:07 p.m. Thursday — Two men were injured when Mark B. Wilson, 81, of Rimersburg lost control of his pickup truck and struck another pickup on Route 68 just north of Hillis Road in Toby Township. The other truck, driven by Denny C. Slee, 45, of Rimersburg rolled onto its passenger side following the collision.Meanwhile, a tire came off Wilson's truck after the crash and struck the rear of a sport utility vehicle.Wilson, who was wearing a seat belt, was taken to an undisclosed hospital with moderate injuries. Slee, who was wearing a seat belt, suffered a minor injury but did not require hospital treatment.
2:04 a.m. Sunday — A 26-year-old Freeport man, who police did not identify, was arrested for suspicion of driving under the influence on Route 28 in North Buffalo Township.4:25 p.m. Saturday — Kenneth X. Pratt, 18, of Templeton was arrested after he allegedly chased and threatened to kill a 56-year-old Templeton man at a Hoover Road home in Boggs Township. Pratt was arraigned on charges including aggravated assault and placed in the Armstrong County Jail on $20,000 bail.Saturday — Police ticketed Jack H. Schrecengost, 56, of Ford City for two traffic violations stemming from a Sept. 21 crash in Manor Township. The wreck happened about 3:50 p.m. when Schrecengost lost control of his car on rain-soaked Route 422 and hit a guardrail.He was cited for driving with two badly worn rear tires and driving at an unsafe speed.
4:17 p.m. Friday — The Dollar General Store on Route 19 in Sandy Creek Township was cited for having four false emergency alarms within a 12-month period.3:19 p.m. Sept. 27 — A car driven by Deshaun J. Emery, 25, of Erie collided with a pickup truck at School and Latham road in Sandy Lake Township.Police said Emery did not stop at a stop sign before attempting to cross the intersection. He was cited for a traffic sign violation. Ronald H. Burdette, 54, of Stoneboro was driving the pickup.
