1:07 p.m. Wednesday — Police arrested Ian Hindley, 22, of Butler on a warrant after he turned himself. Hindley told authorities that he had seen a wanted photograph of himself on the Butler police Facebook page.The arrest warrant was issued last month in connection with a case of suspected drunken and drugged driving on Dec. 25 in Butler.In addition to driving under the influence of a controlled substance and DUI, Hindley is charged with a felony count of fleeing or attempting to elude police. Police also cited him for driving with a suspected license, running a red light, a stop sign violation and careless driving.He was arraigned on charges and released on his own recognizance.2 p.m. Saturday — Cody G. Philbrook, 18, of Summit Township was arrested after police learned he was wanted on a warrant from Florida.Officers found Philbrook after a man came into the police station and reported that a man tried to sell him marijuana. The suspect was reportedly in a car at a pizza shop parking lot on West Cunningham Street.Police went there, known as a high drug traffic area, and talked to Philbrook, the driver, and his passenger, Matthew A. Hutto, 23, of Summit Township.Hutto admitted he had a “little weed,” according to a police report. Officers seized small baggies of suspected marijuana from Hutto's pocket and from between the driver's seat and center console.Philbrook was later taken to the Butler County Prison on the out-of-state warrant. He is charged with being a fugitive from justice.Additionally, police charged Philbrook and Hutto with possession of a small amount of marijuana.12:15 a.m. Friday — Jermaine L. Lane, 22, of Braddock, Allegheny County, was arrested at West Wayne and South Washington streets on a warrant from Allegheny County.Lane was later placed in the Allegheny County Jail on the warrant issued for a probation violation in a receiving stolen property case in 2012.5:38 a.m. Jan. 23 — A car driven by Theresa A. Holzwarth, 52, of Butler rear-ended a tractor-trailer stopped on North Monroe Street at the railroad overpass. Terry E. Terry, 49, of Elko, Nev., was driving the rig.
7:46 a.m. Tuesday — The PNC Bank branch on West Main Street was cited for an unlawful alarm activation. The citation was issued after the bank's seven false alarm in 12 months.
8:53 a.m. Wednesday — A Venango County woman was hurt when her car struck a snow plow truck on Route 8 at Sutherland Road in Mercer Township. The truck, driven by Walter J. Walowen, 62, of Harrisville, traveled through the intersection and into the path of the car.Michelle L. Mong, 56, of Franklin, the other driver, was taken to the Grove City Medical Center with minor injuries. She was wearing a seat belt.Volunteer firefighters from Harrisville in Butler County and Pine Township in Mercer County assisted at the scene.6:19 p.m. Tuesday — Claudia Lee Jones, 62, of Harmony was arrested after allegedly striking a 62-year-old Harmony man in the face during a suspected assault in Lancaster Township.Jones was arraigned on charges of simple assault and harassment. She was placed in the Butler County Prison and released the next day after posting $1,500 bail.5:56 p.m. Tuesday — A car driven by Henry P. Coyle, 18, of Guys Mills, Crawford County, struck the back of another car on Route 8 at Maplewood Drive in Center Township. Coyle was adjusting the heat in his car and did not see the other car, driven by David J. Hill, 44, of Butler, that was stopped to turn.Police cited Coyle for following too closely to another vehicle. Unionville volunteer firefighters assisted at the scene.2:20 p.m. Tuesday — An unspecified amount of money was stolen in burglary at a woman's home on Victoria Manor in Summit Township. Police said the investigation continues but did not indicated if they have a suspect.8:40 a.m. Tuesday — A pickup truck driven by a 17-year-old Butler boy struck an unattended car at the parking lot outside Garfield's restaurant at the Clearview Mall in Center Township.Police said the boy, who they did not identify, fled. He and his pickup were later found. The teen was cited for careless driving.9:05 p.m. Monday — An unidentified female customer failed to return money that was inadvertently placed in a grocery bag at Bogacz Market on Saxonburg Boulevard in Clinton Township. The market owns the money.Monday — Someone punctured or slashed two tires on a man's truck that was parked at Ghost Riders on Route 8 in Center Township.10:47 p.m. Jan. 29 — Someone tried to pry open the front door of the Butler Gun Emporium on Route 68 in Oakland Township. The door knob was broken off but the suspect was unable to get inside.10:13 a.m. Jan. 5 — Dimitri R. Trevant, 35, of Pittsburgh lost control of his car and spun into a Mack truck on Interstate 79 south of Evans Road in Jackson Township Police cited Trevant for driving too fast for conditions. Robert L. Boyle, 31, of Ellwood City was driving the truck.Sept. 9 — An identity thief opened a credit card with personal information of a Jefferson Township woman and stole more than $240 in unauthorized charges.
8:25 p.m. Wednesday — A teenager was hurt in a two-vehicle wreck in East Franklin Township.The crash happened when Kirsten L. Wolfe, 18, of Kittanning momentarily looked down at the radio of the car she was driving and ran into a minivan on East Brady Road just north of Butler Road.Wolfe, who was not wearing a seat belt, was taken to ACMH Hospital near Kittanning with minor injuries. She faces tickets for careless driving and a seat belt violation. Sabrina Lamison, 24, of Kittanning was the other driver.3:05 p.m. Tuesday — A 29-year-old Kittanning woman is suspected for passing an “obviously counterfeit” 20-dollar bill at the Long John Silver's restaurant, Franklin Village Mall in East Franklin Township. Police did not identity the woman, who could be charged with theft by deception pending further investigation.
