10:11 a.m. Tuesday — Brian D. Wickwire, 46, of Butler was arrested for trespassing at the Housing Authority of Butler County office on Woody Drive. A police report noted that Wickwire, following a previous incident, was warned that he was not permitted back on the authority property.He was arraigned on a charge of defiant trespass, and placed in the Butler County Prison on $5,000 bail.Tuesday — Justin Boes, 20, of Center Township was charged with drugged driving stemming from a crash on North Monroe Street at 7:35 p.m. Jan. 14.Boes crashed into a utility pole in front of the Monroe Coin Op Laundry. The car was still running and Boes had a bleeding head wound when officers found the wreck. Officers also noticed a suspected marijuana pipe on the passenger floor.The suspect was taken to Butler Memorial Hospital for treatment of injuries and for a blood test. A toxicology report on Tuesday showed he had a “high amount of THC in his system,” according to a police report.THC is the primary psychoactive chemical in marijuana.Boes is charged with driving under the influence of a controlled substance, possession of a small amount of marijuana and drug paraphernalia, and careless driving.

Tuesday — Strange antics and odd behavior earlier this month led police to charge Scott Moyer, 25, of Slippery Rock. Police encountered Moyer about 7:20 p.m. Jan. 8 after being called to the Walmart at Butler Commons.Officers spotted the suspect “throwing candy and then yelling and cursing at it,” according to a police report. He also was goofing around in a wheelchair available to assist handicapped customers.A search of Moyer turned up suspected drug contraband including a hypodermic needle and metal spoon. Additionally, police found him with a $1 box of candy he allegedly shoplifted.Police said he is charged with possession of drug paraphernalia, disorderly conduct, public drunkenness and retail theft.6:15 a.m. Monday — No one was hurt in a three-vehicle wreck on Route 422 near Route 8. The crash happened when a vehicle driven by Donald Marlowe, 42, of Boyers, while trying to pass another vehicle, struck the side of a car driven by Zachery Shearer, 20, of Butler.The collision made Shearer lose control of his car, causing it to hit the back of Marlowe's vehicle and the driver's side of a vehicle driven by Diana Foster, 51, of Slippery Rock. Shearer's car had to be towed.6:58 a.m. Friday — Beth Ann Deless, 44, of Butler was cited for disorderly conduct stemming from a confrontation with a school bus driver at a bus stop at Meridian Road and Delason Avenue.

4:19 p.m. Monday — A pair of black eyeglasses were found in the snow in the 300 block of East Main Street. The owner can claim the glasses at the police station at 337 E. Pine St.8 a.m. Monday — Three Grove City teenagers were caught sleeping in the basement of a home in the 300 block of North Broad Street, without the owner's or occupants' permission. Charged with trespass are Trenton L. Stearns, 18, a 17-year-old boy and a 15-year-old girl.Police did not identify the two youngest suspects, who are charged in juvenile court.

12:44 p.m. Tuesday — A snowy parking lot was blamed for Paul E. Ealy, 31, of Karns City losing control of his car and crashing into a tractor-trailer that was pulling in for a delivery at R.W. McDonald on Route 8 in Center Township. Daniel M. Matecki, 49, of Bemus Point, N.Y., was driving the 18-wheeler.1:14 p.m. Monday — An unidentified vehicle, possibly a gold or beige Ford Taurus, struck a mailbox at Route 38 and Old State Road in Concord Township. The unknown driver did not stop. The car, which likely has front-end damage, was last seen traveling north on Route 38. Anyone with information is asked to call police at 724-284-8100.6:20 a.m. Monday — A sport utility vehicle driven by Jason K. Zach, 34, of Butler struck a tree that was blocking Carbon Center Road about one-tenth of a mile east of Keck Road in Summit Township.The township road crew was called after the accident and cleared away the tree and other debris.2:19 p.m. Sunday — A man and child from Cabot were hurt when their SUV crashed on Route 356 just south of Stutz Road in Summit Township. Larry W. Schmidt Jr., 38, and his passenger, 10-year-old Trenton D. Schmidt, were treated at Butler Memorial Hospital for minor injuriesPolice said Schmidt lost control of the vehicle on the snow- and slush-covered road, hit an embankment, rolled over and struck a tree. The SUV ended on its wheels against the tree.Both occupants were wearing seat belts. Schmidt was cited for driving too fast for conditions.6:15 p.m. Saturday — No one was injured in a pair of near simultaneous accidents on Interstate 79 at the Slippery Rock exit in Worth Township. Snowy and icy road conditions were blamed in both wrecks and no charges were filed.In one wreck, a car driven by James A. Snow, 23, of Pittsburgh slid off the road and struck a cement barrier.In the other accident, Ashley N. Deselich, 30, of Monroeville, Allegheny County, lost control of her car and slid sideways into another car. The other driver, Martin Carryer, 67, of Greensburg, Westmoreland County, tried unsuccessfully to avoid the crash.The back of Carryer's vehicle hit the guardrail.Jan. 14 — A thief stole several batteries from school buses at the Route 422 Bus and Auto Auction storage lot in Muddy Creek Township.

11:33 p.m. Monday — A pickup truck struck two guardrails, ending atop one of them on Route 208 just east of Interstate 80 in Clinton Township, Venango County. The unknown driver fled on foot, leaving behind the 2003 Chevrolet Silverado1:34 p.m. Sunday — A Lawrence County woman lost control of her sport utility vehicle when a large truck passed her on ice-covered Interstate 80 in Irwin Township. The SUV, driven by Brenna R. Penwell, 20, of Bessemer, was pushed around by the wind caused by the truck, causing the vehicle to go off the road and into a ditch before hitting a rest area sign.

9:31 a.m. Tuesday — A pickup truck driven by Brian K. Groff, 30, of Kittanning rear-ended a Mack truck stopped on Route 422 west at Glade Run Road in East Franklin Township. Police said Groff was cited for an unspecified traffic violation. Rodney J. Lemmons, 58, of Clymer, Indiana County, was driving the Mack truck.
