7:22 p.m. Dec. 9 — Charles R. Allen, 47, of Butler was charged with driving under the influence and reckless endangerment of another person after an accident on West Cunningham Street.Police said Allen was driving the wrong way on West Cunningham Street when he crashed into a car driven by Chad Miller, 34, of Jeannette, near the tier parking garage.Police believed Allen to be intoxicated but he refused to take a field sobriety test. He was arrested for suspected DUI and ultimately agreed to a blood test at Butler Memorial Hospital.Results of the test showed Allen to have a BAC of 0.35 percent, placing him more than four times the legal limit of 0.08 percent.Miller was not injured in the accident and was able to drive his car away from the scene.

8:45 p.m. Tuesday — Richard L. Bold, 42, of Prospect was charged with two counts of simple assault and harassment after he allegedly assaulted a 40-year-old female and a 15-year-old boy, both of Prospect, at Michael's Restaurant and Motel along Route 422 in Franklin Township.Bold was arraigned by District Judge Sue Haggerty and placed in Butler County Prison on $4,000 bail.State Police, Mercer9:40 p.m. Sunday — Jonathan A. Wakefield, age unknown, of Franklin was charged with simple assault after he backed into another vehicle and hurt a woman's hand.Police said Wakefield was in his truck speaking with Courtney Lucas, who was standing next to his vehicle, in the driveway of Lucas' Black Run Road home at the time of the incident. After speaking with Lucas, Wakefield allegedly backed up and rammed his truck into a truck owned by Samuel Gargasz, who also lived at the address. As Wakefield sped away, his truck struck Lucas' right hand, according to police.

Tuesday — Someone broke into the Harvest Community Church along Reed Road in East Franklin Township, Allegheny County, and stole a hand safe containing several items including an iPod Mini, headphones, gift cards, $240 worth of restaurant vouchers, and two large bowls containing U.S. silver coins.Anyone with information is asked to contact state police at 724-543-2011.
