5:13 p.m. Saturday — Alfred L. Irvin, 32, no known address, was arrested on a warrant in connection with a suspected “funny money” case earlier this month.Police last week obtained arrest warrants for Irvin and his alleged accomplice, Dezeray L. Angerett, 29, of Butler Township, who are accused of using a counterfeit $50 bill to pay for two sandwiches they ordered Oct. 13 for delivery to an apartment building in the 300 block of West Jefferson Street.Both suspects are charged with conspiracy to commit forgery, a felony. Angerett is additionally charged with a separate count of forgery, also a felony.Police on Saturday spotted Irvin and stopped him walking in the 200 block of East Jefferson Street. He was arrested on the warrant.Officers searched him and turned up seven stamp bags of suspected heroin. In turn, police charged Irvin with possession of a controlled substance and drug paraphernalia.He was later arraigned on charges in both cases, and placed in Butler County Prison on $20,000 bail.Oct. 28 — Police charged Carrie L. Meier, 30, of Summit Township with using a Butler man's bank debit card to make $4,240 in unauthorized purchases at three stores last month.Between Sept. 12 and 16, Meier allegedly made 21 fraudulent purchases at the Kmart in Butler, and the Get-Go and Walmart in Butler Township.Police said store surveillance video showed Meier committing the suspected crime. She is charged with access device fraud, a felony.Oct. 28 — Natasha N. Ingle, 29, no known address, was charged with forging and cashing two checks discovered stolen last month from an apartment on West Cunningham Street.The alleged victim, Russell Epley, in reporting the suspected crime, told police that Ingle had been cleaning for him and “had access to his entire apartment,” court documents.Police allege Ingle fraudulently cashed one check for $400 on Aug. 15 and the other check for $350 on Aug. 17.Ingle is charged with forgery, a felony and misdemeanor theft.Oct. 28 — Police accused a Beaver County woman with fraudulently cashing a check stolen from a home on North Elm Street. Tiffany N. Watson, 29, of Monaca is charged with forgery, a felony and misdemeanor theft.Watson on Oct. 22 allegedly forged and cashed the check, belonging to April Smoot, for $150.
Monday — Police filed a pair of criminal charges against Kimberly M. Powers, 27, of Butler stemming from an Oct. 28 shoplifting incident at the Walmart in Butler Commons.Powers was caught about 5:30 p.m. allegedly stealing a Lego set that she hid inside a diaper bag. At the time she had an infant and another child with her at the store. Powers is charged with retail theft and corruption of minors.4:12 p.m. Oct. 28 — A Valley Lines school bus driven by Brandy Cable, 30, of Butler rear-ended a car at New Castle Road at Alameda Park Road. A 9-year-old student on the bus suffered a minor injury. No one else in either vehicle was hurt.Cable was cited for careless driving. Nathan Lowry, 31, of Butler was driving the car.5:04 p.m. Oct. 25 — A Fenelton youth, who police did not identify, tried to pass a counterfeit $20 bill at the Rite Aid pharmacy at Point Plaza. The suspect is charged in juvenile court with forgery.
3:21 a.m. Sunday — Richard C. Stair, 23, of Evans City lost control of his pickup truck and struck a utility pole along Swain Hill about one mile east of Hilltop Lane in Lancaster Township. Witnesses told police they saw Stair flee after the crash.Troopers were unable to find Stair after the wreck. However, police later cited Stair for failing to immediately notify police of an accident, driving without insurance, driving on the wrong side of the road, driving with an open container of alcohol and careless driving.Oct. 28 — Police charged three men with the theft of $2,375 in equipment this summer from Asplundh Tree Expert Co. trucks in Clearfield Township.The suspects, Adam H. Dinsmore, 28, and Dylan A. Smith, 21, both of Dayton, Armstrong County, and Tyler A. Dotts, 20, of Punxsutawney, Jefferson County, are wanted on felony arrest warrants for the crimes of July 17 or 18.The trio is accused of taking chainsaws and other property from the trucks at the Clearfield Township Building and on Route 422 at McGrady Road.All three men are charged with theft and receiving stolen property, both felonies, and theft from a vehicle and criminal mischief, both misdemeanors.9 a.m. Oct. 27 — A reportedly stolen vehicle was found burned in a field along Hall Road in Clay Township.
7:40 p.m. Saturday — A woman was hurt after she lost control of her sport utility vehicle and slammed into a tree about 7:40 p.m. Saturday in Richland Township, Venango County.Krista M. Peterson, 29, was going around a sharp bend on Rockland-Nickleville Road when her vehicle crossed into the opposite lane and went off the road.Emlenton Ambulance took Peterson and her passenger, Edward C. Devore, 25, of Oil City, to UPMC Northwest in Seneca. Peterson suffered moderate injuries and Devore had minor injuries.Peterson was cited for driving on the wrong side of the road.
2 p.m. Sunday — Becca M. Bly, 19, of Chicora lost control of her car and struck a road sign and several small trees along Route 19 just south of Dickinson Lane in Scott Township, Lawrence County. Bly was cited for careless driving.
