Butler Police9:27 Wednesday — James Howard-George, 20, of Butler was charged with simple assault and recklessly endangering another person after he hit a father and son at a home on Third Avenue.John David Dunmyer Jr., 26, and his father, John David Sr., 51, were having a fire with neighbors when a van pulled up to their house. Howard-George got out of the vehicle and tried to fight John Smith, 24, of Butler, who was at the fire.Dunmyer Jr. told him to leave multiple times before he was hit in the mouth by Howard-George. Dunmyer Sr. tried to break the pair up and was hit in the face, causing him to fall to the ground. The fall left Dunmyer Sr. with a large cut on his head.6:16 p.m. July 22 — Maureen Roche, 58, of Portersville was charged with DUI after police found her highly intoxicated in her car in front of a pizza shop.Police received complaints of an intoxicated woman driving a silver van. They eventually found the van parked outside Gorillo’s Pizza on South Monroe Street.Police soon saw Roche leaving the shop with a case of beer. When they came to the van, police found a strong smell of alcohol on Roche’s breath and an open can of beer in the center console.Roche was not cooperative and refused a field sobriety test.She was arrested and later given a blood test.Results of the test came back Wednesday, showing her blood alcohol content to .235 percent, which is higher than the state limit.

State Police, ButlerTuesday — Michelle Albert reported someone had stolen a micro refrigerator from the back porch of her home on Pipestem Road in Slippery Rock.The refrigerator, valued at $100, was stolen sometime between Aug. 10 and Tuesday.Monday — Someone stole a street sign and damaged six others between noon and 3 p.m. in Concord Township.The vandalism happened in the area of Murtland Road and Birckbickler Road. The sign stolen was for Campbell Hallow Road.Total damages for the signs was more than $250.
