Today — Police reported they charged Kimberly M. Rivera, 47, of Butler with drugged driving stemming from a two-vehicle crash last month on Center Avenue.The crash happened about 1:10 p.m. Feb. 21 when Rivera's sport utility vehicle crossed into the opposing lane and collided with an SUV driven by George T. Walsh II, no age given, of Cabot.Officers said when they got to the crash Rivera appeared impaired. They also found several medication bottles on her front seat. She was taken to Butler Memorial Hospital for a blood test.Police recently received the toxicology results that showed she tested positive for several drugs including gabapentin, which according to the U.S. National Library of Medicine is used to treat certain types of seizures, restless leg syndrome and pain caused from shingles.Other drugs in her system were lithium; the anti-seizure and migraine medicine topiramate; and the narcotic painkiller tramadol.Friday — Police arrested Erin Crystal Torres, 24, of Butler a day after she allegedly violated a protection from abuse order. She is accused of attempting Thursday to contact 28-year-old Carlos M. Torres of Butler in violation of the PFA.Erin Torres was placed in the Butler County Prison on a charge of indirect criminal contempt.State Police, Butler1:15 a.m. Sunday — Donald T. Fair, 27, of Chicora was arrested for suspicion of driving under the influence after his pickup truck traveled over an embankment and crashed into a tree along Harper Road in Concord Township.8:15 p.m. Saturday — Jeffery L. Dumhoff, 47, of Renfrew was arrested for suspicion of DUI on Sunset Drive at Stoughton's Golf Course in Center Township.12:35 p.m. Saturday — Lucinda S. Patrick, 48, of Cabot was hurt when the car she was driving rear-ended another car on North Pike Road just south of Winfield Road in Winfield Township. Patrick, who was wearing a seat belt, was taken to Butler Memorial Hospital with minor injuries.Patrick was cited for driving too fast for conditions. Abram C. Smith, 64, of New Castle was the other driver.2:55 p.m. Thursday — Gregory S. Frobe, 52, of Butler was seriously hurt when the car he was driving collided with a pickup truck on Saxonburg Boulevard just north of Rachel Drive in Clinton Township.Frobe, who was wearing a seat belt, suffered moderate head injuries. He was flown by medical helicopter to Allegheny General Hospital in Pittsburgh.The other driver, Aaron D. Barton, 22, of West Sunbury, was cited for making an improper left turn.
2 p.m. Saturday — A sport utility vehicle driven by Jacob D. Harris, 22, and a pickup truck driven by Brayden D. Rea, 19, both of Harrisville, collided on Georgetown Road just south of Interstate 80 in Irwin Township.
11:45 p.m. Saturday — Jason W. Geary, 39, of Leechburg was arrested for suspicion of driving under the influence on Route 28 in Harmar Township, Allegheny County.12:30 a.m. Saturday — An unknown driver fled a wild wreck at Route 68 and Kittanning Hollow Road in Bradys Bend Township.The crash happened when the suspect's silver Ford Taurus ran a stop sign and sideswiped two parked vehicles. The car continued into a dirt pile before going airborne for more than 30 feet. The car traveled another 80 feet and landed in Sugar Creek.Anyone with information about the hit-and-run crash is asked to call police at 724-543-2011.11:37 p.m. Friday — Charles Turney, 20, of Worthington was arrested for suspicion of DUI after his car got stuck in mud on the side of Gaiser Road in West Franklin Township.
6 p.m. Thursday — Thomas M. Prorok, 79, of Harrisville and Andrew L. Wasser, 26, of Grove City both were hurt when vehicles they were driving collided at Route 173 at Interstate 80 in Wolf Creek Township. Wasser, who was not wearing a seat belt, was taken to the Grove City Medical Center with moderate injuries.Prorok, who was wearing a seat belt, suffered minor injuries. He was cited for making an improper left turn.
Sunday — Police reported that a would-be thief, who they did not identify, is accused of trying to pass a $300 check owned by a Prospect man on Nov. 13 in Slippery Rock Township, Lawrence County. The check was not cashed because the bank account it was written on did not have sufficient funds.12:12 p.m. Saturday — A trucker paid the price after apparently failing to heed a bridge clearance sign on Route 488 just east of Hickerhell Road in Perry Township.The driver, who police did not identify, lost the rig's load of utility poles when his tractor-trailer entered the bridge posted with a sign noting an 11-foot, 2-inch clearance. The load was too high to clear and struck the steel support.Police inspected the bridge but found no apparent damage to its supports. The trucker faces a ticket for not obeying traffic signs.
