1:42 p.m. Tuesday — Jeremy R. Miller, 19, of Hilliards was charged with theft by unlawful taking after he allegedly stole $700 in cash and a wallet valued at $50, both belonging to Kaylaa S. Chupka of Butler, from Chupka's home on West Diamond Street.
Thursday — Police are warning residents to beware of an Internet scam which locks the user's computer and displays a screen informing the individual they have violated federal laws and must pay a $200 fine, using a Green Dot Money Pak card, within 72 hours. No law enforcement agency will take payments through retail stores, confirmed township police. Individuals who have been victimized by this or another Internet scam should contact the Internet Crime Center at IC3.gov or the Federal Trade Commission at FTC.gov.Jan. 12 — Alysia L. McCloskey, 43, of Butler was charged with theft of mislaid property, access device fraud, identity theft and receiving stolen property after she allegedly used credit cards found in a wallet which had been lost at Wal-Mart in Butler Commons.
5:48 p.m. Friday — A vehicle driven by Julia A. Revitsky, 31, of Butler crashed into a tree along Portman Road near Pine Drive in Summit Township. Revitsky and a 4-year-old passenger in the vehicle each suffered minor injuries. Revitsky was cited for careless driving.Friday — Stephanie L. Deitrich of Butler alleged her mail was stolen from her mailbox on Freeport Road in Summit Township between Feb. 2 and Friday.11:56 p.m. Thursday — Someone stole a dark green, 1994 Jeep Wrangler with a tan rag top, belonging to James Speicher Jr. of Butler and with Pennsylvania license plate JBK6990, while the vehicle was parked along Webb Road in Clay Township between 5 and 11:56 p.m. Thursday. Anyone with information should call police at 724-284-8100.1:40 p.m. Thursday — Julie L. Lascuola, 29, of Butler was charged with retail theft after she allegedly attempted to steal multiple clothing items from the Boscov's at Clearview Mall in Center Township.7 a.m. Thursday — Someone shot the driver's side fender of a truck belonging to Anthony Parenti of Harrisville with what appeared to be a .40-caliber bullet between 8 p.m. Wednesday and 7 a.m. Thursday while the truck was parked along Shields Road in Mercer Township.
