Butler Police11:33 a.m. Friday — William P. Kennihan II, 34, of Butler was charged with accidents involving damage to unattended property and driving under suspension after the car he was driving allegedly struck a utility pole at the intersection of North Main and West Pearl streets.10:04 p.m. Wednesday — Jennifer L. Daugherty, 37, of Butler was charged with simple assault and DUI high rate of alcohol, and Jonathan L. Daugherty, 22, of New Brighton was charged with criminal trespass after they allegedly entered the Center Avenue residence of John R. Daugherty, husband and father to the pair, respectively, to demand money. Jennifer Daugherty allegedly burned John Daugherty with a cigarette while he slept. She was charged with DUI after she allegedly drove to the city police station to report being assaulted after John Daugherty defended himself.1:23 p.m. Tuesday — Elizabeth Haslett, 30, of Butler was charged with criminal attempt after she allegedly tried to ship via UPS a package containing amphetamine pills. According to police, she aroused suspicion by telling the store clerk the package contained keys and a Social Security card, but was breakable.10 a.m. Tuesday — Elaine R. Augustine, 51, of Penn Township was charged with accidents involving damage to attended vehicles after the vehicle she was driving allegedly struck a van several times in the parking lot of Kids Count on West New Castle Street, causing about $600 in damage, then left the scene.11:19 a.m. Monday — A tractor trailer driven by John R. Neal, 41, of Harrisville and a SUV driven by Dawn R. Fetterolf, 41, of Pittsburgh collided at the intersection of South Main and East Wayne streets.7:13 a.m. Monday — Someone cut tires on two vehicles belonging to Charles Hamilton of Butler while the vehicles were parked in the lot at the corner of West Birch and South Chestnut streets between Sept. 9 and Monday morning.6:41 p.m. Sept. 8 — Brandon A. Levigne, 25, of Lyndora was charged with retail theft after he allegedly stole a TV and a Bluetooth headset with a total value of $750 from the K-Mart on Hansen Avenue, while he was an employee there, on Sept. 5.
Grove City Police1:52 a.m. Thursday — Someone broke into the Save-A-Lot grocery store at 111 Mills St., and stole various items. Anyone with information should call police at 724-458-7925.
Harrisville PoliceSept. 5 — Dylan E. Burkert, 21, and Devon L. Burkert, 24, both of Harrisville, were charged on Sept. 5 with possession of a small amount of marijuana and possession of drug paraphernalia after police allegedly saw illegal items in plain view while responding to a medical emergency at a Wick Avenue residence on April 13, 2012. Devon Burkert also was charged with possession of an unlawful controlled substance/heroin and oxycodone.
State Police, Mercer3:15 p.m. Tuesday — A car driven by Vonda M. Duffy, 74, of Cortland, Ohio, and a car driven by David J. Howe, 30, of Grove City collided on Interstate 79 in Springfield Township. Duffy’s passenger Sandra Williams, 63, of Cortland, Ohio, as well as Howe and his passenger Cathleen Schmidt, 26, of Grove City, all suffered minor injuries. Duffy was cited for driving on divided highways.2:13 p.m. Tuesday — A car driven by Daniel S. Devine, 28, of Grove City, an SUV driven by Marty W. Ruley, 69, of Grove City and a car driven by David A. Hilliard, 67, of Mercer collided at the intersection of South Center Street and North Liberty Road in Pine Township. Devine was cited for careless driving.1:08 p.m. Tuesday — John Fielder, 65, of Zelienople suffered moderate injuries and was taken by medical helicopter to UPMC Horizon in Sharon after the motorcycle he was riding crashed along Route 19 in Coolspring Township.
State Police, New Castle1:44 p.m. Aug. 30 — An SUV driven by Daniel E. Lary, 30, of Butler struck a guard rail on Route 422 in Slippery Rock Township, Lawrence County. Lary’s passenger Christine Slaughtenhaut, 33, of Butler suffered moderate injuries and was taken by ambulance to Butler Memorial Hospital. Lary allegedly fled the scene, but was caught shortly thereafter and was cited for driving on roads laned for traffic.
