12:14 a.m. Sunday — Richard L. McManus, 44, of Butler was arrested after he was found passed out on a sidewalk on Armco Drive next to the Picklegate Crossing. Police said they had to awaken McManus, who was found with suspected marijuana and a smoking pipe.He is charged with possession of a small amount of marijuana and drug paraphernalia, and public drunkenness.4:19 a.m. Saturday — Two men were cited after police were called for a reported large fight outside the Cigarette Shop on West Jefferson Street. One suspect, Gilmore A. Hilliard Jr., 48, of Butler, is charged with possessing an illegal stun gun and the other, Dewayne L. Fletcher, 28, of Worthington, Armstrong County, is charged with disorderly conduct.7:32 a.m. June 23 — Warren J. Green, 27, of Butler was arrested for suspicion of driving under the influence of drugs after his car struck a vehicle parked in front of a home on North Sixth Avenue. Green allegedly drove away after the crash. Officers found him a short time later.Police on July 27 obtained the results of a blood test that showed Green had the presence of opiates, marijuana and clonazepam, an antiseizure drug, in his system, according to a police report.He faces charges of drugged driving and hit-and-run.
10:55 p.m. Saturday — A hit-and-run driver crashed a 2003 Ford Taurus on Route 268 in Bruin and then fled the scene. The car sustained severe front end damage. Police did not immediately say if they have a suspect.1:30 a.m. Friday — Todd J. Malinak, 45, of West Sunbury was charged with simple assault following a dispute at a home on West Sunbury Road in Center Township. Malinak is accused of assaulting a 52-year-old West Sunbury woman, who suffered unspecified injuries.12:05 a.m. Friday — A suspected vandal placed spoiled milk inside a mailbox and smashed the mailbox on Headland Road in Summit Township. Police did not identify the suspect, who faces a charge of criminal mischief.Friday — Someone broke into a locked 2006 Car Mate utility trailer parked at a construction site on Spring Ridge Drive in Center Township.Stolen from the trailer, owned by Reynolds Drywall of Harmony, was an Arctic Cat 2500 AG gas generator, Rigid 18-volt cordless multi-tool kit with accessories, a Rigid half-inch electric drill, Skil circular saw and about 12 to 15 heavy duty extension cords.The total value of the stolen items is about $3,500. Anyone with information about the theft that happened between 4 p.m. Thursday and 7 a.m. Friday is asked to call police at 724-284-8100.Friday — An unknown thief stole a three-gallon gas can and marine battery from a boat at a home on Route 38 in Summit Township. The theft happened Thursday or Friday.12:36 p.m. Thursday — A pickup truck driven by Howard E. Vensel, 78, of Butler and a car driven by Paula A. Brady, 54, of Butler collided at the intersection of North Main Street and Mercer Road in Center Township. Police said Vensel was cited for making an improper left turn.9:34 a.m. Thursday — A van driven by a 17-year-old Chicora girl struck an embankment on Pine Road near Butternut Road in Fairview Township, and rolled onto its driver's side.3:10 a.m. Thursday — Brittany Lea Raybuck, 25, of Butler was arrested for suspicion of driving under the influence after her car crashed at Route 308 and Jamisonville Road in Center Township.5:30 p.m. Wednesday — Korie J. Thompson, 39, of Butler was hurt when the sport utility vehicle he was driving struck a grass embankment and two utility poles along Rattigan Road near Fenelton Road in Donegal Township.Police said Thompson was cited for driving at an unsafe speed, careless driving, not wearing a seat belt, hit-and-run and driving with a suspended license.Wednesday — Someone used a high-powered air rifle to shoot four rounds through the wall at New Testament Church on Duffy Road in Center Township, and to shoot out the glass door at Community Alliance Church on Mercer Road in Center Township. The vandalism happened between 1 a.m. Tuesday and 8 a.m. Wednesday.Wednesday — An unknown burglar stole a large black safe with gold lettering from St. Joseph's Church in Chicora. Inside the safe were four gold-plated patens and a gold-plated Intinction set without the base.The church property also sustained damage in the break-in that happened between 7 p.m. Tuesday and 2 p.m. Wednesday. Anyone with information is asked to call police.9:10 p.m. Tuesday — David P. Yednak, 21, of Cranberry Township was hurt when the motorcycle he was driving crashed and slid into a group of mailboxes on New Castle Road near Simon Lane in Slippery Rock Township.Yednak was taken by medical helicopter to Allegheny General Hospital in Pittsburgh with moderate injuries Police said he was cited for driving at unsafe speed.3:35 p.m. Tuesday — A car driven by Robert Cousins, 26, of Kittanning crashed into a cement wall along Winfield Road near Clearfield Road in Winfield Township. Police said Cousins was cited for a lane violation.4 p.m. July 25 — Someone broke into a storage shed along Olive Street in Karns City and stole a purple/pink Mongoose bicycle. The break-in and theft happened between 9 p.m. July 12 and 4 p.m. July 25.7:50 a.m. July 22 — Someone damaged the roadside sign for Markowski's Martial Arts Academy on Lardintown Road in Clinton Township between 9 p.m. July 21 and 7:50 a.m. July 22. The sign was ripped from its mounts and spotlights set to illuminate the sign also were damaged.
4:56 p.m. Friday — A car driven by Travis G. Myers, 18, and a pickup truck driven by Jeffrey W. Schotting, 46, both of Templeton collided on Clearfield Pike in Kittanning. Police said Myers was cited for a lane violation.1:45 p.m. July 25 — Jaysa R. Gerboc, 24, of Ford City was arrested for suspicion of driving under the influence of a controlled substance on Route 28 at the Slate Lick exit in South Buffalo Township.Police, meanwhile, said they want to talk to witnesses who may have seen Gerboc driving that day in a dark colored, 1994 Ford Thunderbird. 1:10 a.m. July 25 — Three boys escaped the George Junior Republic juvenile detention facility in Pine Township. Grove City police later arrested the youths after they allegedly broke into a business in the borough.
