11:30 a.m. Friday — Three people were injured in a five-vehicle chain-reaction crash on New Castle Road in front of the VA Hospital.The accident happened when a vehicle driven by Carl Fry, 55, of Butler struck the rear of a vehicle driven by Donald Rickel, 67, of New Castle.Police said Rickel's car was then pushed into the back of a vehicle driven by Ruth Davis, 81, of Prospect, which was pushed into the rear of a vehicle driven by Barbara McCowin, 69, of Beaver Falls, Beaver County. McCowin's car, in turn, was pushed into the back of a vehicle driven by Henry Krupa Sr., 53, of Portersville.Fry, Rickel and Cheryl Uhl, 42, of Prospect, a passenger in Davis' vehicle, were taken to Butler Memorial Hospital with moderate injuries.

2:51 p.m. Sunday — A car driven by Greg R. Wise, 39, of Beaver, Beaver County, rear-ended a sport utility vehicle on Interstate 79 in Jackson Township. Police said Wise was cited for following too closely to another vehicle. Richard W. Stiffler, 31, of Cranberry Township was driving the SUV.7:36 p.m. Saturday — A car driven by Chad A. White, 19, of Murrysville, Westmoreland County, struck a guardrail on I-79 in Jackson Township. Police said White was cited for careless driving.Saturday — A 40-foot aluminum ladder was stolen between 7:30 a.m.,. and 1 p.m. from a home on Route 8 in Center Township.Thursday — An unknown thief stole a pickup truck from the Marburger Dairy Farm on Mars-Evans City Road in Forward Township. The pickup is a maroon, 1992 Ford F-250 model with the Pennsylvania license plate YVC8194. The truck was taken between 5 p.m. Wednesday and 1 p.m. Thursday.Anyone with information about the theft is asked to call police at 724-284-8100.April 14 — Several yard power tools were stolen from a storage shed in a burglary at a home on Lang Lane in Worth Township. The break-in happened between April 10 and Thursday.April 12 — An unknown thief or thieves on April 11 or 12 stole scrap rotors and 150 pounds of cast aluminum from 380 W. Park Road in Worth Township.April 11 — Someone vandalized three windows on storage sheds at Portersville Self Storage on Fisher Road in Muddy Creek Township. The vandalism happened between March 27 and April 11.

12:56 a.m. Saturday — Five people were caught illegally drinking along Yellow Dog Road in Worthington. Cited for underage drinking were Christopher W. Arndt, 19, of Cabot; Rhonda L. Claypoole, 19, and Kayla M. Croyle, 20, both of Kittanning; and Dylan C. Lusk, 20, and Marc A. Macurdy, 18, both of Saxonburg.10 p.m. Friday — Police cited Skyla B. Hartman, 20, of Worthington and Stephie Ann Wise, 20, of Kittanning for underage drinking following a traffic stop at Main Street and Craigsville Road in Worthington. The women, police said, were passengers in the vehicle that was stopped.April 11 — A cell phone and pack of little cigars were stolen from a sport utility vehicle at a Stone Avenue home in the village of Templeton in Pine Township. The theft happened between April 3 and 11.

2:05 p.m. Friday — Scott S. Dulaney, 40, of Grove City was arrested for suspicion of driving under the influence in the parking lot of the Henricks car repair garage in Pine Township.8:12 p.m. April 11 — Two people were hurt when cars driven by Gabriel Weygandt, 17, of Grove City and James E. Shetter, 61, of Stoneboro collided at Springfield Church and Scrubgrass roads in Findley Township.Shetter and his passenger, Ruth A. Morrow, 73, of Sandy Lake, were treated at Grove City Medical Center for moderate injuries. Police said Weygandt was cited for a stop sign violation.

Friday — An unknown thief stole a Protech headache rack, two Kenworth 125-gallon fuel tanks and several pieces of 12-foot aluminum trailer flooring from 3408 Perry Highway in Scott Township. The property, valued at $2,700, was taken between 2 and 6 p.m.
