8:35 a.m. Saturday — Kurt R. Kline, 22, of Butler is accused in a hit-and-run crash on South Main Street. The crash happened as Marshall Offstein, 61, of Butler was sitting in his pickup truck in front of the post office.Offstein said a southbound car swerved across both lanes and hit the front of his truck, which was facing north. The driver of the car did not stop.Another motorist saw the crash and provided police with the car's license plate, which was tracked to Kline, a police report said.Police spoke to the suspect, who admitted hitting the pickup. He claimed he “panicked” and drove away, the report said.Kline faces charges of hit-and-run and careless driving.Saturday — An Allegheny County man was cited for littering after allegedly tossing away a ticket he got for public intoxication the previous night.Police had arrested the suspect, Damien D. Witherspoon, 34, of Wilkinsburg on a charge of public drunkenness about 3:40 p.m. Friday. He was placed in a holding cell at the police station to sleep it off. He was given a ticket and released shortly after 9:30 p.m.,An officer about 8:10 a.m., found the copy of Witherspoon's citation “crinkled and discarded” in the gutter just outside the station. That landed him the ticket for littering.7:29 a.m. Wednesday — A car driven by Kevin Kerr, 34, of Center Township rear-ended a pickup stopped for traffic at Main and Walnut streets. David Blewett, 74, of Center Township was driving the pickup.

8:10 a.m. Sunday — A sport utility vehicle driven by Nicole P. Spickerman, 27, of Cranberry Township struck the front of a state police cruiser on Route 19 near East New Castle Street in Zelienople. Trooper Gesuele Burello, 37, swerved his cruiser to the right to try and avoid the collision, and struck a metal pole.Spickerman, who was wearing a seat belt, suffered a minor injury.6:20 a.m. Saturday — Bernadette Swierkowski, 49, of Renfrew was hurt when the sport utility vehicle she was driving hit a cement barrier on the side of Route 8 just south of Old Plank Road in Penn Township. Swierkowski, who was wearing a seat belt, suffered a minor injury.8:35 p.m. Friday — A car driven by Jihong Jang, 34, of Amherst., N.Y., crashed into a ditch on Interstate 79 in Muddy Creek Township.12:57 p.m. Friday — One person was hurt when Angela M. Greenawalt, 30, of New Bethlehem, Clarion County, lost control of her car and struck an embankment on Route 422 at the Mitchell Hill exit in Summit Township. Cindy L. O'Neil, 49, of Franklin, Venango County, a passenger in the car, was taken to Butler Memorial Hospital with minor injuries.Police said Greenawalt was cited for driving at an unsafe speed.7:35 p.m. Thursday — Jason L. McWilliams, 31, of Buffalo Township was arrested for allegedly violating a 22-year-old Butler woman's protection from abuse order. The violation occurred, police said, when McWilliams sent text messages to the woman. He was placed in the Butler County Prison on $5,000 bail.3 a.m. Wednesday — Marianne Gumbosky, 22, of Butler was arrested for suspicion of driving under the influence at Route 356 and Wonderly Drive in Buffalo Township.1:53 a.m. March 2 — Donald Lee Kio II, 39, of Butler was arrested for DUI after his vehicle struck a ditch on Lindsay Lane in Summit Township. Police also cited Kio for disregarding traffic lanes.

1:39 a.m. Sunday — Thomas Best, 38, of Rimersburg was arrested for suspicion of driving under the influence at Routes 28 and 66 in New Bethlehem.Sunday — An antique Lionel train set and antique stamp machine worth a combined $400 were stolen from a detached garage at a home on Route 68 just north of East Brady in Brady Township. The break-in happened between 12:01 a.m. and 1 p.m.11:40 p.m. Friday — Boyde A. Pritts, 18, of Parker allegedly threatened a 16-year-old Shippenville girl with a knife during an altercation on Route 322 in Paint Township. Police said Pritts faces a charge of simple assault.

Sunday — An unknown thief stole a security camera from the top of a building in the 300 block of Mile Long Hill Road in North Buffalo Township. The camera, owned by R.J. Brown River Towing of Kittanning and valued at $165, was taken between 3 and 4 a.m.5:35 a.m. Saturday — Melinda Spangler, 43, of Sarver lost control of her car going across an ice-covered bridge and hit an embankment on Route 28 about one mile south of exit 16 in Fawn Township, Allegheny County.

Sunday — Police reported retail theft and conspiracy charges are pending against a pair of alleged shoplifters suspected of taking more than $1,400 in electronic items on four separate occasions at the Walmart in Pine Township. Police did not identify the suspects, a 28-year-old woman and a 26-year-old man.5:40 p.m. Friday — Brittany Moore, 24, of Farrell was caught allegedly shoplifting $130 worth of Clothing from the Carters store at Prime Outlets in Springfield Township. Police said Moore is charged with retail theft.11:30 p.m. Thursday —Two people were hurt when a car driven by Corey B. Mingione, 35, of Harrisville struck a tree after sliding off snow-covered Veterans Road near Old Ash Road in Springfield Township. Mingione and his passenger, Steven A. Cochran, 27, of Grove City, suffered minor injuries; both were wearing seat belts.Police said Mingione was cited for driving too fast for conditions.7:13 p.m. Thursday — An Ohio trucker was hurt when the tractor-trailer he was driving crashed and rolled onto its side on Interstate 80 in Wolf Creek Township. Alan R. McDaniel, 62, of Mantua, who was wearing a seat belt, was taken to Grove City Medical Center with unknown injuries.
