Wednesday — Police charged George T. Honeycutt, 33, of Butler with stealing his neighbor's snow shovel last week.Honeycutt was allegedly caught red handed stealing the green shovel Dec. 14 from Benjamin Main Jr.'s home on West Diamond Street, according to a police report.Another neighbor told police he heard a dog barking and looked out his window. That's when he spotted the suspect running off Main's porch, shovel in hand.Main the next day notified police that during the night, someone had left a snow shovel along the side of his house. But that shovel was not his shovel, valued at $15, the report said.An officer on Sunday spoke to Honeycutt, who denied stealing Main's shovel, He claimed he was at work at the time of the theft.
4:19 a.m. Wednesday — Rikki Ann Stupak, 30, of Butler was arrested for suspicion of driving under the influence after her van struck a guardrail on Litman Road. Police said Stupak also faces charges of possessing a small amount of marijuana and drug paraphernalia, and driving at an unsafe speed.
Wednesday — Police charged three employees at Flynn’s Tire and Auto Service in Butler with allegedly filing false information on state vehicle inspection records between October 2008 and June of this year.Charged are John Bonifate, 61, of Allison Park, Allegheny County; Raymond L. Lengvarsky, 52, of Carnegie, Allegheny County; and Matthew J. Neely, 40, of Chicora.Bonifate faces 303 counts; and Lengvarsky and Neely, 51 counts each.Meanwhile, a police news release noted that three other employees, who were not identified, and the business face charges that an uncertified mechanic conducted state inspections for two years dating back to October 2008.12:40 p.m. Friday — Two Montgomery County teenagers are accused of escaping from the Summit Academy juvenile detention facility on Herman Road in Summit Township.Nicholas Cutrone, 18, of Plymouth Meeting and Joseph Hophan, 18, of Montgomery were spotted leaving the facility in a black car, according to court documents.District Judge Pete Shaffer later that day issued arrest warrants for the students, both charged with escape.
