8:57 p.m. Wednesday — Donald M. Schramm, 56, and his son, Ryan Patrick Schramm, 28, were arrested in connection with a domestic dispute at their South Cliff Street apartment. Both men are charged with simple assault.

Following arraignment, the younger Schramm was placed in Butler County Prison on $2,000 bail. The father was released on his own recognizance.

3:52 p.m. Wednesday — Joshua Michael Crispin, 21, of Butler was allegedly caught with two stamp bags of suspected heroin and a syringe after being taken to the police station for questioning into a theft investigation. He faces charges of possession of a controlled substance and drug paraphernalia.

11:44 a.m. Wednesday — Police pulled over Brad Stephen Cookson Jr., 35, of Summit Township after spotting him on North Jackson Street driving a Dodge pickup truck with a license plate previously issued for a Ford truck.

But, it turned out, that was just the start of the vehicle infractions.

The license plate, police said, had expired in 2004. Cookson also admitted to the officer that he was driving without insurance. The officer soon found out Cookson's license was suspended, too.

A closer look at the license plate, meanwhile, revealed that it had been altered to appear as if the plate was valid until 2010, a police report said.

Police cited Cookson for the list of violations, and they also seized the license plate.

Wednesday — Police charged Deborah K. Krivak, 48, of Butler and Donna A. Digiacomo, 40, of Saxonburg in connection with the theft of a purse June 28 at Aldi Food in Butler Commons. Police said the pair is accused of using credit and check cards taken from the purse.Both woman, police said, are charged with forgery, conspiracy, access device fraud, identity theft and receiving stolen property.Wednesday — Police charged Justin Carney, 31, and Christin Cousins, 24, both of Kittanning for trespass after they were caught at Wal-Mart in Butler Commons. Police said the couple was barred from the store in 2007.

10:53 p.m. Wednesday — Police recovered a stolen car that had been abandoned at Grove City Memorial Park. A Pittsburgh man owns the vehicle.

1:01 a.m. Thursday — Gary Frain Jr., 30, of Sarver was arrested for suspicion of driving under the influence at Winfield Road and Route 356 in Winfield Township.10:40 p.m. Wednesday — A car driven by Richard R. Hoffman, 54, of Butler crashed into a grass embankment on Route 308 in Cherry Township. Hoffman, who was not wearing a seat belt, was flown by medical helicopter to Presbyterian Hospital in Pittsburgh.Wednesday — Police filed felony drug charges against Chad Norbert Blum, 27, who is accused of growing marijuana plants in front of his mobile home at the Queens Court Trailer Park in Clay Township.Two probation officers discovered the contraband June 16 after someone called authorities to report Blum was in violation of his probation. Police were called and, according to court documents, seized four marijuana plants from a planter pot.Blum is charged with four counts of manufacturing a controlled substance.Wednesday — Police charged Jeffrey Andrasovsky, 55, of Clearfield Township with drunken driving stemming from a traffic stop at 8:10 p.m. July 4 in Summit Township.Andrasovsky was caught in a speed trap allegedly traveling 22 mph over the posted 55 mph limit on Route 422 at Mitchell Hill, police said. He is charged with driving under the influence and speeding.Tuesday — An unknown burglar forced open the front door of the Prospect Community Library on Main Street and stole $113. The suspect also dumped several papers behind the front desk before leaving. The burglary occurred between 8 p.m. Monday and 9:45 a.m. Tuesday.Tuesday — A purple, 16-inch Disney Princess bicycle was stolen between July 17 and Tuesday from around a Herman Road garage in Summit Township.

Wednesday — Police are investigating the theft of three vehicles in Madison Township overnight Tuesday or Wednesday.The vehicles included a blue and silver Ford F-150 pickup truck taken from the driveway of a Route 861 home; a green, 1990s model Polaris all-terrain vehicle from a Route 68 home; and a red, 1996 Honda 300 EX quad that was chained to a utility pole at Lawsonham Road and Pleasant Hill Lane.

11:42 p.m. Thursday — Bonnie Sue Santos, 41, of Poland, Ohio, was arrested for drunken driving after allegedly leading police on a 7-mile chase on Interstate 80 in Wolf Creek Township.Santos, in addition to DUI, is charged with fleeing or attempting to elude police, reckless driving, careless driving, a lane violation, following too closely to another vehicle and not wearing a seat belt.July 15 — A 14-year-old Conneautville boy is accused of fondling an 8-year-old girl at an undisclosed location on Route 58 in Pine Township. The boy, who police did not identify, faces a charge of indecent assault. Authorities released no other information about the case.

6 a.m. Thursday — A sport utility vehicle driven by Amanda L. Black, 22, of Butler struck an embankment on Route 19 near Jeffrey Lane in Scott Township. Police said Black was cited for a lane violation.3:14 p.m. Wednesday — An Ohio man suffered only minor injuries after inoperable brakes forced him to intentionally swerve his car off Route 422 near McConnells Mill Road in Slippery Rock Township, Lawrence County.William F. Navarra, 64, of Poland took the action, police said, as he drove upon traffic slowed for a construction project. When he pushed his brake pedal and realized he could not slow the car, he turned his steering wheel to the left, toward a break in the raised cement median.His westbound 2007 Chrysler Sebring JXI crossed both eastbound lanes and went off the road. The car's undercarriage traveled over the grass and dirt on the side of the road before hitting a utility pole.Navarra, who was wearing a seat belt, was hurt but his injuries did not require medical treatment, police said.
