David N. 'Yum' Uram
David N. "Yum" Uram, 54, of Butler died Sunday at his residence of natural causes.
Yum was born Sept. 30, 1954, in Butler, the son of Ann Simitoski Uram and the late Nicholas Uram.
He was a graduate of Butler High School and worked in maintenance at Ervin Industries for more than 30 years. He previously had worked at the Pullman-Standard Car Co. in Butler.
Dave was a fun-loving person who loved his family and cherished his many friends. He was a devoted husband of almost 30 years. He adored his daughter and enjoyed spending time with his grandson.
He was a talented craftsman and an exceptional cook who worked hard and enjoyed life. He had a very tender, loving heart and was always willing to lend a helping hand.
In the past few years, Yum enjoyed cruising to such places as Hawaii, the Caribbean and Alaska. Recently, he was looking forward to another of his many fishing trips. Dave knew how to have a good time and often persuaded those around him to "live in the moment."
His wife, Marlene Steighner Uram, whom he married Nov. 17, 1979, survives him. Also surviving is his daughter, Rachel R. Uram of Butler; his mother, Mrs. Ann Uram of Butler; a sister, Mrs. Ron (Karen) Sobkowz of Butler; and his grandson, Damien Green of Butler. His great friend and "second father," Tom Quinlan of Butler and several nieces and nephews also survive him.
