Clair R. Hinkle, 86, formerly of Spruce Street, died at 2:49 a.m. Friday at the Arbors at Delaware, Delaware, Ohio.

Born June 25, 1921, in Sharpsville, he was the son of Leonard and Etta Daniels Hinkle.

Mr. Hinkle was a member of the Hill United Presbyterian Church.

He had been a furnace tender at Armco-Butler Works for 37 years.

He was an Army veteran of World War II, and he was a member of the VFW Post 249.

Surviving are three sons, Thomas Hinkle of Delaware, Ohio, and Ronald and Joseph Hinkle, both of Albuquerque, N.M.; seven grandchildren; a number of nieces and nephews; and two sisters, Mrs. Hazel Davis of Vandergrift and Mrs. Dorothy Schmidt of West Middlesex.

He married Armida Tosi Aug. 24, 1942, and she died Nov. 30, 1990. He also was preceded in death by four brothers.
