William James Gill
William James Gill, 63, of Centerville Pike, Slippery Rock, died at 10:34 a.m. Thursday at Butler Memorial Hospital.
Born in Brady Township Feb. 11, 1945, he was the son of W. Samuel and Maude Kelly Gill.
He graduated from Slippery Rock High School in 1963.
He was a Protestant. He enjoyed hunting, fishing and raising a variety of animals.
He was a furnace operator for Halstead Industries in Zelienople from 1966 to 1990. He later worked for Aramark Services providing janitorial services for Slippery Rock schools, and he retired from there.
Surviving are his wife, Audrey Dawn Gill, who he married Sept. 9, 1999; one daughter, Abby N. Gill of Slippery Rock; five sons, Travis W. Gill of Slippery Rock, James Gill of Texas, Joseph Gill of Slippery Rock, John Gill of Texas and Michael Gill of Zelienople; two sisters, Martha McGillivray and her husband, Norman, of Fresno, Calif., and Rosemary McMurray and her husband, Harry, of Slippery Rock, and a number of grandchildren, nieces and nephews.
He was preceded in death by his parents, an infant daughter, and a sister, Annabelle Gill Reeger.
<B>GILL </B>— Friends of William James Gill, who died Thursday, Feb. 28, 2008, will be received from noon until 1 p.m. Saturday at <B>SMITHFUNERALHOME</B>, 421 New Castle St., Slippery Rock. Services will follow at 1 p.m. Saturday. The eulogy will be performed by Audrey's uncle Richard Graham of Zelienople. Interment will be at Slippery Rock Cemetery.
