1 a.m. Tuesday - Chad Gulu, 27, of 106 Reed Lane was cited for fraud after he passed two bad checks totaling $156.29 at Bubrook Inc. in Butler.Tuesday - Dan Barto, 38, of 105 Cross St. told police someone entered his vehicle in front of his residence during the night and removed a cup holder and a few cents.
12:37 a.m. Sunday - Police responded to a fire at a telephone pole at the intersection of Rochester and Powell roads. The electrical wires were sparking and Penn Power workers were called to repair the lines.10:24 a.m. Sunday - Robert Snyder of 4583 Old Route 19 reported two Bush political signs were stolen from his front yard.Oct. 24 -- Tracy Wagner of 703 Cherry Tree Way reported a Kerry/Edwards political sign and a 3-foot ghost were taken from the front yard of her home.9:30 a.m. Oct. 22 - Mike Diehl, the Cranberry Township parks director, reported food missing from the freezer/refrigerator in the senior/teen center. Two loaves of bread, eggs and a half-gallon of ice cream were taken. The township told the seniors group to lock the freezer in the future.8:59 a.m. Oct. 21 - Jim Kordell of 223 Greenwood Dr. reported someone took a black bowling ball that was in his yard. The ball had been covered with glued pennies. There was no estimate on the value of the ball.
9:42 a.m. Oct. 21 - A tractor trailer truck driven by Robert Russell Diamond, no age given, of Everest, Kan., struck a parked motor home owned by Michael Steven Raymer, 59, of Baltimore while it was parked at 104 North Main St. near Mussig Floral.8 p.m. Oct. 21 - Steve Murray, 20, of 205 Pennsylvania Ave. reported $300 in change was taken from a mug at his residence.1:40 a.m. Oct. 22 - Jonathon C. Eckstein, 36, of 125 Southview Dr., Harmony, was charged with a driving-under-the-influence-related charge following an accident when his vehicle collided with a vehicle driven by Miles Frances Bizub, 20, of Rochester, Beaver County, near 905 West New Castle St.
4:38 p.m. Monday - Zachary Charles Malis, 22, and Christopher Michael Burke, 30, both of Butler, were charged with possession of drug paraphernalia after the vehicle Malis was driving was stopped for traffic violations on Route 28 in South Buffalo Township.Witnesses told police Malis was driving a white Pontiac Grand Prix more than 100 mph as he passed several vehicles on the right shoulder of Route 28 near the Slate Lick exit.Police pulled the vehicle over and discovered Butler City police wanted Burke for a misdemeanor warrant for theft by unlawful taking. Burke was taken into custody and waived his arraignment in Armstrong County. He was then taken to Butler County, where he was arraigned and placed in Butler County Prison.When police searched Malis, they found two syringes, 14 unopened packages of razor blades and other items of drug paraphernalia. He was charged with possession of drug paraphernalia and reckless driving, arraigned in Armstrong County and placed in Armstrong County Jail on $2,000 cash bond.State police in Kittanning are asking anyone who may have witnessed the incident to contact Trooper Christopher Robbins at 724-543-2011.1 p.m. Monday - Charles John, 62, of Kittanning told police that sometime between April 3 and Oct. 25 someone stole four steel I-beams, three 4-inch steel pipes and a 3-foot Dynamark snow plow from a location on Old Route 28 in North Buffalo Township.8:15 a.m. Monday - Vehicles driven by Gregory Fritz, 33, of Butler and Leonard Kushnec Jr., 44, of East Brady collided on Route 28 southbound in Harrison Township. Both drivers were wearing seatbelts and were not injured.12:45 a.m. Saturday - A vehicle driven by Thomas McConnell, 23, of Pittsburgh struck a deer on Route 28 in South Buffalo Township. McConnell and his passenger, Leslie Ann Kirby, 24, of Pittsburgh, were wearing seatbelts and were not injured.
