A Butler woman charged with endangering her daughter after driving under the influence of a controlled substance pleaded guilty in Butler County Court on Tuesday.

Samantha Yoder, 35, pleaded guilty to felony endangering the welfare of children and misdemeanor DUI controlled substance before President Judge Thomas Doerr.

The plea agreement calls for a sentence of 72 months of the county Intermediate Punishment program, with 15 months on house arrest with electronic monitoring, $2,500 in fines and 150 hours of community service. She is scheduled for sentencing on Feb. 21.

Butler police filed the charges after an incident in the 400 block of West Jefferson Street in Butler, on July 6. Police said Yoder failed field sobriety tests. She was taken to Butler Memorial Hospital for a blood draw, which came back positive for the drugs Alprazolam and two varieties of THC, police said.

Police said they also found eight strips of suboxone in Yoder's wallet during a search, and said she could not produce a prescription for the medication.

She also had a 7-year-old child in her car at the time, police said.

Yoder was initially charged with the felony endangering count, two misdemeanor counts of DUI controlled substance and one count of possession of a controlled substance, which was withdrawn at the district court level. The remaining charges will be dismissed as part of the plea.
