State police Troop T and the Pennsylvania Turnpike Commission are holding a car seat safety event from 3 to 7 p.m. Monday, Sept. 21, at the Oakmont Plum Service Plaza, mile 49.3 eastbound.

The event, which takes place during National Child Passenger Safety Week, will have troopers assisting parents and caregivers with installation of car seats and providing education on proper use of seats.

The event is free for all. No appointment is necessary.
