9:25 a.m. Tuesday — Thomas R. Bergbigler Jr., 37, of Lyndora is accused of assaulting his girlfriend, 33-year-old Amy Scott, during a domestic dispute at her Fourth Avenue home. Police charged Bergbigler with simple assault.Tuesday — Police charged Daniel W. Liggitt, 21, of Lyndora with theft of services for not making payments on or returning rental property. Liggitt on April 19 signed a lease agreement with the Rent A Center store in Pullman Square for a 52-inch television and an Xbox video game system. But the suspect made just one small payment on the $1,238.50 lease. Store officials told police that since April 17 they tried but failed 10 times to contact Liggitt to recover the items.1:47 p.m. Friday — Jennifer M. Pennington, 25, was arrested on a felony assault charge after she allegedly kicked a Butler police officer at her home. Pennington became "extremely enraged" when Butler County Children and Youth Services showed up at her Greenview Drive apartment to take custody of her child. Court documents that police filed did not indicate why CYS was taking her child. After causing a disturbance, police arrested Pennington and placed her in a patrol car. Then she tried to kick out a rear window in the car.When officers tried to calm her down, she kicked Patrolman Anthony Fatta in the face, but he was not injured. Pennington was arraigned on charges of aggravated assault and disorderly conduct, and placed in Butler County Prison on $10,000 bail.Friday — Police charged Glenn S. Davis Jr., 58, of Harrisville with stalking after he followed his 56-year-old wife to her new home in Butler. The alleged victim has a protection from abuse order against Davis. Butler County Judge Kelley Streib on April 27 issued the PFA, which expires Oct. 27, 2011, according to court records. The woman sought the protective order, documents said, after state police on April 15 arrested him for terrorist threats, stemming from threats her allegedly made to her.
5:15 p.m. Monday — Ying Yang, 35, of Slippery Rock is accused of shoplifting unspecified merchandise from the Wal-Mart in Butler Commons. Yang is charged with retail theft.9:11 p.m. Saturday — David J. Pfennigwerth, 47, of Butler was caught trying to walk out of Wal-Mart in Butler Commons with a shopping cart containing items he allegedly intended to steal. Police charged Pfennigwerth with retail theft. They filed a separate charge of retail theft against him, stemming from an earlier shoplifting case at the same store.5:22 p.m. Saturday — Laron Gilmore, 31, of Pittsburgh is accused of shoplifting stereo equipment at the Wal-Mart in Butler Commons. Police arrested Gilmore at Old Plank Estates where they found him and Isaiah D. Hill, 26, of Butler, who was in possession of the allegedly stolen property. Gilmore was arraigned on a charge of retail theft and placed in Butler County Prison on $5,000 bail. Police on Monday charged Hill with receiving property.12:40 a.m. Saturday — Juanita Regal, 42, of Butler was arrested for suspicion of driving under the influence on South Duffy Road. She also is cited for careless driving.
9:17 p.m. Sunday — Cars driven by Alexandria E. Crist, 18, of Saxonburg and Mary B. Rea, 22, of Butler collided at Bonniebrook and Great Belt roads in Jefferson Township. Rea was treated at Allegheny General Hospital in Pittsburgh for minor injuries. Crist was cited for a stop sign violation.
2:45 p.m. Monday — A car driven by Anthony T. King, 23, of Stoneboro struck an embankment after skidding on rain-soaked Irishtown Road in Pine Township. King was cited for driving at an unsafe speed.
