12:50 a.m. July 29 — A homeless man was Tasered after police say he tried to punch an officer at the station. Joshua A. Konyak, 26, was later arraigned on charges of aggravated assault and resisting arrest, and placed in the Butler County Prison.

Police said they were speaking to Konyak about an unspecified civil complaint when he became angry. He is accused of clenching his fists and charging at an officer. The suspect was stopped and turned around to be arrested, documents said.

But he again made a fist and turned toward the same officer. When it appeared he was attempting to punch the officer, police deployed a Taser.

5:20 p.m. Wednesday — A car driven by Cassandra N. Nagle, 21, of Chicora rear-ended another vehicle on New Castle Road. Christina Pochatko, 44, of Connoquenessing was the other driver. No injuries were reported

Police said Nagle was cited for driving at an unsafe speed.

Wednesday — Jared T. Biedenbach, 21, of Butler was charged with being more than 2½ times over the state’s legal limit for alcohol stemming from a one-vehicle wreck in June on Herman Road in Clearfield Township.

Police said Biedenbach suffered an apparent cut on his head in the crash shortly before 11:40 p.m. June 1. According to court documents, police later obtained a search warrant for his medical records at UPMC Presbyterian hospital in Pittsburgh.

Lab results showed his blood-alcohol level was 0.205 percent. In Pennsylvania, a level of 0.08 percent is considered intoxicated.

Biedenbach is charged with driving under the influence, driving with a suspended license, driving a vehicle with insurance, disregarding traffic lanes and a seat belt violation.

1:10 a.m. Tuesday — Two men were arrested on charges they assaulted a relative during an argument in Clearfield Township.

Timothy G. Sullivan, 19, and Jeremiah T. Brockman, 23, both of Clearfield Township were both arraigned on charges of simple assault and harassment. Sullivan also is charged with underage drinking.

Following arraignment, Sullivan and Brockman were placed in the Butler County Prison on $5,000 and $25,000 bail, respectively.

The victim told police that Sullivan, his brother, and Brockman, his cousin, punched him several times at Sullivan’s home on Cornetti Road, according to court documents.

Police said the victim’s right eye was blackened and swollen shut, and he had a bite mark on his back near the right shoulder.

10:59 p.m. July 29 — Bob T. Dawson-Alexander, 31, of Center Township was allegedly caught with suspected marijuana and a scale following a traffic stop on Route 308 at Renick Road in Clay Township.

He is charged with possession of a controlled substance and drug paraphernalia, and disregarding traffic lanes.

Tuesday — Police charged two teenagers with misdemeanor retail theft in connection with a July 24 shoplifting incident at a Clearview Mall store in Center Township.

Alyza R. Kapalka, 18, of Cabot and Madison O. Watson, 18, of Penn Township were allegedly spotted taking clothing items at Boscov’s, court documents said. The merchandise totaled $254.99.

Monday — Clarissa M. Bayless, 66, of Connoquenessing Township was charged with driving on drugs stemming from a June two-vehicle crash on Route 422 just west of Keck Road in Summit Township.

Police said the wreck happened about 7:30 a.m. June 26 when Bayless attempted to make a U-turn and traveled in front of the other vehicle. She admitted taking two prescription drugs at 4 o’clock that morning, according to court documents.

Bayless was taken for a blood test that showed she had several drugs in her system, documents said, including amphetamine, lorazepam, topiramate and tramadol.

She is charged with driving under the influence of a controlled substance, driving with a suspended license, driving without a license, driving an unregistered vehicle, a license plate violation, making an unsafe U-turn, disregarding traffic lanes and careless driving.

Monday — Police charged Dustin M. Irlbacher, 23, of Concord Township with drugged driving in connection with a traffic stop July 13 at Route 308 and Holyoke in Center Township. He was stopped about 9:40 p.m. for traveling outside his traffic lane.

Police said he subsequently failed field sobriety tests and was taken to Butler Memorial Hospital for a blood test. Toxicology results, according to court documents, showed he had the prescription medication paroxetine in his system.

Irlbacher is charged with driving under the influence of a controlled substance, failing to keep right, disregarding traffic lanes, failing to use turn signals and careless driving.

July 26 — David V. Matson, 41, was charged with trying to hide from police who were seeking him for a pair of warrants earlier this month at his home on Center Drive of in Oakland Township.

Troopers went to the home July 6 after they got a tip that Matson was there. They also believed Christine M. Filges, 42, who lives with the defendant, was with him.

But when they knocked on the door and announced they were police, the troopers got no response from inside, according to court documents.

Police eventually contacted the Filges’ father, the homeowner, who arrived and opened the door. Filges initially denied Matson was there. She later pointed to the master bedroom, after trooper again asked about Matson’s whereabouts.

A short time later, documents said, Matson “yelled from inside the bed frame that he was coming out.”

Matson is charged with flight to avoid apprehension, tail or punishment. Filges is charged with hindering apprehension or prosecution.

4:51 p.m. Monday — No injuries were reported when a sport utility vehicle driven by Eugene S. McBryar, 73, of Sarver struck another SUV on Route 28 north about two miles south of the Millerstown exit in Harrison Township, Allegheny County. The other driver was not identified in a police report.

Police cited McBryar for making an improper lane change.

3:10 p.m. Monday — One person was hurt in a rear-end wreck in East Franklin Township.

Police said the crash happened when a car driven by William L. Sellers, 59, of Kittanning struck the back of the other vehicle on Glade Run Road at Route 422 west. Sheila A. Hillwig, 65, of Karns City was the other driver.

Hillwig’s passenger, Domina T. Hillwig Friel, 35, of East Brady, was taken to Butler Memorial Hospital with apparent minor injuries.

[naviga:h3]State Police, Punxsutawney[/naviga:h3]

Wednesday — The state police Bureau of Liquor Control Enforcement cited Bravo Cucina Italiana on Route 19 in Cranberry Township for violating the state liquor law between May 17 and June 21 by failing to have its board-approved manager complete Responsible Alcohol Management Program training.

RAMP was designed to train beverage alcohol licensees and servers on responsible service, including detection of false IDs, prevention of underage drinking, prevention of serving visibly intoxicated patrons and developing designated driver programs.

An administrative law judge will hear the case.
